What I did to my 4-tec boat today...

It definitely does. The carpets looked nice but with only 2 outings 5 of the buttons had broke. This looks way more sporty and I think adds a lot of character to it. My only complaint is that some of cut isn't perfect and if you have OCD it can really bother you, lol.

Nice looking boat. We picked up a 2004 Sportster 4tec last Fall. First thing we did was add HydroTurf but now I'm looking at adding a tower now and yours looks very nice (is that a Monster tower?). Maybe this is obvious, but I was trying to figure out how to access that back side of the mounting points for reinforcement and attachment of the mounting bases. The back ones I can get to through the engine compartment but the front don't seem to have any existing access. Did you have to cut holes somewhere to get to the back of the mounting spots? Thanks for any suggestions on the tower.

Tested the swapped fuel pumps yesterday. Same results for the engines, which rules out fuel delivery.

In my quest to get a more consistent engine sync, I believe it is because the port engine is a little weaker than the starboard engine. To understand what is causing the weakness, I have done the following (with a test run in-between for trouble isolation purposes):

1) trimmed excess sealant in the intake area on the port side.
2) replaced both wear rings and impellers
3) swapped fuel injectors between engines
4) swapped coils between engines
5) swapped spark plugs between engines
6) cleaned both throttle bodies

I'm running out of things to swap. I may try swapping the throttle bodies next.

I'm not concerned about the sync function to the point of worrying about it. I still love the boat and am enjoying it all summer long. I'm just a serial tinkerer and want to understand the sync function better.

You sync engines with your ears. Forget all the other BS

I replace the bow stop rollers on my trailer today. Got tired of the old ones marking up the hull. No, I have to work on getting the marks buffed out.

I disconnected all of my electrical connectors in the engine compartment, cleaned them with CDC Electronic Connector Cleaner and then placed some dielectric grease on each one. Found some corrosion on the connector behind the instrument panel, while I was doing it. I also cleaned my battery wire terminals and put some dielectric grease on those as well.

Two of my canopy rail screws were loose, so I removed the rail and filled the holes with Marinetex. I let it dry while I was doing the above maintenance and then replaced the screws. Seems to be holding quite well...

I need to put that electrical work on my to do list. Thanks for posting it.

Did the electrical cleaner work well?

Yes. Two of the connections had a pin or two that were green. Now they are clean again. The inside of the connector behind the dash had some corrosion as well. I am hoping this will fix my RPM gauge lock I experienced, once. The dielectric grease should prevent future corrosion and intrusion of water or salt air, as well as prevent any minor arcing or voltage leak, that may occur.

I haven't updated this in a while. Over the past few weeks, I ran a permanent power cable to my GPS and checked the pump grease before heading the coast last weekend for a four-day weekend of wave jumping (on PWCs) and boating with three other guys. My boat was the rest/rescue vehicle, along with my 1996 SPX and my buddy's 2003 XP. The image stabilization on my Action Cam doesn't do justice to the actual seas, but here is a quick clip out of about 6 hours of video shot from my Challenger.

Boat performed great, SeaDoos required a little maintenance on day 2, but the video will kind of show you why. Most of the time, we stuck the landing, but not on this one.

Not a bad weekend for 4 forty-something guys that get together once a year for a trip like this.

I received the first (out of three) Wet Sounds sinister amps to run 2 x 12, 2 x 6.5, 2 x 8.8 (all wetsounds) and 2 roswell neptune tower speakers. Also received my secondary AGM 120AH battery and charger. Have the wake 200 booked in 2 weeks for a fibreglass sub woofer enclosure and 2 amps fitted under the back seats and the 3rd in the OEM factory position. Took it out last week for the first time after fitting the larger 42lb injectors and x supercharges and the thing hauls ass :)

oh and i also found a single 52mm gauge that displays dual boost!! Going to replace the depth gauge with this. Having it shipped next week and fitted the week after.

Can you post pictures of your gauge and what does it do? Ah it shows each engines own boost.

I lost my key for my boat. I had guests so I ran down to the local dealer, bought a key (60 bucks ugh!) and programmed. I was on the water. While I was doing that I reset my TB parameters.

Thanks CANDOO!

Did all this since we got the boat 2 months ago:

Adding retractable tie downs once they arrive some time today.

The boat tie down straps look awesome. Where did you get those and how much?

They're called Boat Buckle G2. $60 per pair on Amazon. They retract like a seat belt. Think they extend to 43".

We install them on all of our boat trailers. Well worth the money.
