Yeah, I was hoping for you that the eye would pass over cuba the long way, and weaken the storm, but it looks like it just hit the tip and stayed over water, so it may get stronger.

My websites are saying Cat1, so I hope your source is incorrect. Not that there is really much difference between a 1 and 2, but it might mean an extra foot more water, which CAN make all the difference...:(

im a few miles inland so we wont get much of the surge, but i do hope karl fares well

just checked the forecast, it hasnt even hit hurricane speeds yet, they are saying 75mph winds may come in justs, they also mentioned risks of tornados forming away from the eye

I would leave my boat on the lift, but with all the old retired people that live in this neighborhood, there will be all kinds of crap flying around. There is so much lawn furniture, old fences, old wood and common yard junk that never gets put away, I fear all this stuff hitting my lift or getting tossed around. This is my parents house, where I keep my boat...the neighbors don't put anything away when the storms passes through, they just leave. I would rather be safe than sorry. I have My 26' Chris Craft to store away and 6 other vehicles. I can install my Hurricane Shutters in less than 30 minutes...and ride it out. My lift is 1.2 miles from the coast at 4' above high tide, and my house is 5 miles from the coast , at 13' above sea level. What the heck, it still never snows here...so a little excitement is good for the soul. :ack:

hahaha thats a good viewpoint on it karl lol, if my mom would clear out her crap from the garage i could start a hurricane watercraft storage business

20ft ceilings, oversized 3 car garage, could easily do 5-6 trailers side by side 2 rows deep

heck get some lifting rigs and i could hang craft from the ceiling.....

The weather forecasters have no idea...It could come ashore at FT. Myers or maybe Tampa...possibly anywhere in between. It is due to do something by AM Tuesday morning...

The weather here was slight rain and cool breez...so I washed and waxed my Speedster. So much for all the planing of a Hurricane. GO TO HECK "FAY"! :ack:

Jonesing for a boat ride...

It has been raining for 2 weeks in our area, and when I look at the 10-day forecast, THUNDERSTORMS all the way through...:(

I don't see any chance in the near future for a ride. Even have a new place picked out and a fellow member has scouted it out for me...

We are getting the weather you Florida guys should be getting.

This is the Sunshine State. I heard that "FAY" is headed to Texas for a visit...:ack:

Karl

I believe Texas has had it's share of bad weather as it is...I'll send over some sunshine.

Ahh.. I tried anyway.

As far as weather goes... It's been quite dry here lately.... the grass is turning brown! Got in the car after work yesterday (around 6pm) and the outside temp display was showing 104 degrees! :reddevil::reddevil::reddevil::reddevil:

woohoo, new intake grate installed

majority of stickers removed, new to take her to the trim shop and get the new ones laid out and put on :hurray:

I don't mean to brag, but gas is down to $3.33 here...

Now, if it would stop raining for a day or so, I could fill up the boat and take it out...:(

The sun came out for a couple hours while I mowed the swamp...er...yard today. Weather said "89--feels like 100"

I agree...feels like 100. Ended up overheated with a headache that lasted about 4 hours afterward...:ack:

Gas is dropping like a rock...$3.50 a gallon...what a joke. :ack: It's been hotter than He** this week too. The index has been like 100*f
