How about 40 or 50 miles from you in tampa are you haveing the same problems as jacksonville? Here where I live in Keystone heights you here about a murder about every 10 or 15 years.

Tampa, heck that's like 1.5 hours away...even Ft Myers, another hr away is in a high crime area... I like living in a small drinking town with a fishing problem...

Gas is dropping like a brick around here. Down 30 cents in about 2 weeks.

I am currently paying $3.43 :hurray::hurray::hurray:

Another drop here today...down to $ 3.72...that is so crazy...like that's a real bargain or something.

4 weeks - 14 hrs - too much fun

This is (at least for the moment) the last post. N00bs are at least enthusiastic!

Paid $3.38 yesterday. You can actually afford to fill up a boat for that price.

Hope to take the XP out today, maybe the wife will get some pics. It is calm and flat off the beach, so there will be no wave-jumping pics...:(

Great Day

GREAT day on the water today! I cannot move my arms now from all the fun...

No surf, but there was a little bump that kept appearing over the sandbar off the beach, maybe 200 yards out. Really good airs.

Also, I accidentally did this thing that I kinda liked, and started to do it on purpose. I go about 35 mph, then crank the wheel and floor it. The tail end slides around so it faces the direction I am moving, I lean forward, and the jet comes out of the water and I slide a ways on the nose going backwards.

Is there a name for this maneuver?

No pictures. Dad came down with his 3 dogs, and my wife had our dog, and they were too busy throwing toys into the water to use the camera...

Only glitch was after about 2 hours of hard riding, it started to run rough at lower speeds. I took it in to swap spark plugs, and forgot that I put all the spares in my boat!!! But I had a small screwdriver with a serrated edge on it, and I sorta sanded the tip of the plug and under the hooked part, just to clean off the surfaces to clean metal.

It ran GREAT again afterwards. So, just in case you get stuck off shore without spare plugs, try to use a small piece of sandpaper or something thin and abrasive to just clean them enough to get back:hurray:

Oddly, when I was in florida last month to buy the boat from Karl, I didn't think the gas was more expensive than it was in texas, maybe a little more, like 5-10 cents. But now that it is dropping, it is dropping FAST here, but not so fast everywhere else.

I paid 3.38 again today...Actually, 3.67 for super for the XP.

Scott why are you wasting your money on the xp with SUPER? It is designed to run on 87 octane. You could run it on 105 octane cam 2, and it won't run any better. The extra octane just goes out the exhaust with all the un burned fuel.

Karl

I only run SUPER because at one point, when my oiling system was clogged with the JELLO that formed from mixing synthetic and mineral (sorta my fault, sorta the dealer's fault for suggesting the mineral, and the bottles looked the same:()

Anyway, it sounded like it was pinging, so I started to run super. I will start to run regular now that I have purged the oiling system and have synthetic in it (which I bought from you).

Today was the first time I drove it after the purge job. So I am still running the pre-mixed fuel and running super. It ran fine for 2 or 3 hours, so I "ASSume" I did the oil swap correctly. I will start running regular now that I know that the oiling system is working correctly.

Now that the oiling system is working correctly, I don't hear the pinging, so I will go back to 87 octane.

Before, when it was clogged with the JELLO, I could hear a distinct rattle in the engine. I did not hear it today, even running full throttle on flat water.

Glad I caught and fixed it before it damaged my engine...

By the way, it says "last post wins"...what does last post win, and when?

I could sure use some winnings, of some sort...
