I like both those deals! An extra running engine!?! And the 95 was clean for $900

I offered $600 for two faded 96 SPI's tonight. One runs, one is a "basket case" engine project but they are on a straight double trailer.

i can see how ur profile says "more seadoos than they give me room" haha

does that mean you got the 2 spi?

A man with a tractor in his avatar should have a larger gun with a flexible hose but yes that little one will reach your Seadoo and trailer fittings. Yes you need marine grease. One reason is that it wont rinse out with water so easy. I have just switched over to the Lucas and plan to try and use it for everything(I am usually impressed with their products).

haha, that tractor belonged to the guy i bought it from, i don't even have enough space for 3 jet skiis. but cool, i wasn't sure if the fittings were different. thanks for the info.

i wanted to know if it was a fuel injected model so i typed it in, and that's one of the pics i found on google image, so they prob did the same thing. the most legit thing about the ad is him leaving a phone number.

here's one that didn't make it to CL yet, neglected boat sitting on a vacant lot, my bro is negotiating with the owner as we speak, but what a nice set of seats on this puppy, there were actually some small weeds growing out of one of the front seats :) My bro made me come by to look at it and give him my opinion, and my answer was "Run Away !" but he's still pursuing it :)

he originally wanted me to go in halfsies but i've already done one challenger project, not quite sure i'm inclined to try another one, it was a LOT of work cleaning up the hull, hell of a lot more surface area than a jet ski.

Yes, Great looking seats....has that open air feeling to it. Offer $400, that's better for the owner than letting it sit decaying.
What yr., model and motors does it have?

Well if you do a little buffing the green vinyl portions could clean up. The only deal here is to be paid to drag it away as I would
assume everything else is probably seized from sitting. Yikes! How much is the guy asking for it?

well actually its a 96 with a complete 787, engine unknown, no battery but safe to assume its locked up, i was in work clothes (dress slacks and dress shirt) so I wasn't even considering climbing down into the engine bay to try and turn the PTO, frankly the boat was so ugly it really didn't matter if the engine turned, it won't hep the price lol.

he was asking $600, I told him to offer $100 and work his way up to $400 and not to go higher :)
electronics, cables, hood liner, gauges, misc are worth that at a minimum even if you take the hull to the dump. but the hull itself really does clean up well with a lot of elbow grease, a good solid 2 weekends with a pressure washer, buffer, and lots of sweat equity and it will clean up nicely IMO, already priced the interior with KCR357, its very fair.

my 96 challenger (exact same model) cleaned up well, upholstery job was terrific !

but the original interior wasn't in nearly as bad of shape.

What conditions were the motor(s) in?

single 787 look's original, all original paint, can already see the water leak on the exhaust pipe so I assumed locked up, IMO if anything more than the cases are salvageable your ahead of the game, i'd assume complete rebuild, if the hull was better or the price was higher i would have tried to turn the PTO but it seemed pointless, if it turned and the owner saw that he'd want more money :(

Just got THE call. After Spim scored that trunk load of race stuff in Tampa I put a add serching for similar in the Okaloosa Craigalist. A real racer just called who has not run this stuff in years. He has a 96XP he ran in expert class and won many races. Extra engine blocks and extra hull. I am getting dressed and driving right now. He lives a hour away so I gotta go!

Will report back

woohoo ! good luck

Had to pay him $1200 :o. He had put a mint into the stuff back then and wanted 16. It was way back then though and there is an inch of dust on everything. It is essentially two 96 XP's with no trailer. One is a bare hull(and I mean bare!) and it is painted to match the other one with silver on top and black on the bottom.

The Prize is the race ski with a tuned hull. The motor is out and blown but all the goodies are there(Spec 2, Novi's, Jettrim). Both skis have UMI setups, three partial motors total, two cranks, bucket of sponsorship stickers , new hyroturf mats and lift wedges in the bag still, etc. I'm happy but would have been elated at $800.

I've spent the profit on the speedster I haven't even fixed yet
