Nope the rx is different form the RXX

Look at seadoosource model link.
It came out one year and had the most powerful 2 stroke engine.
 
since the rxx is a bad machine, did you want it, ocod? or spim? or matt (i'll even drive it up for ya)

didn't mean to throw you that curve ball with the RXX.

That RX is a DI which you need engineering degree/special equipment to work on it.
The GTX is a regular 787.
 
nah it's cool, i'm still pretty confused, can barely find any pics of RXX vs RX, and it looks like RX comes in both carbed and DI, i could be wrong though, doesn't change the fact that someone here should buy it with me!!!
 
yea i see what u mean on seadoosource though, i just vaguely remember it not being 100% correct, but it is for the most part, normally i google image things to see what comes up, i guess he painted the hull blue too
 
A RX ain't half of an RXX. Look on flebay now to see that pair of RXX's. The AM list never ends!

that's a good thing, cause this is an rxx, so u want it? how bout $700 and i'll drop it off at your parents house, or make me an offer :)

I would be stupid to say no. Spim wants a 951, this is the most powerful 951 ever from what I read. Are you sure? There were only 500

Same hull, but the Rxx is a legit race ski from the factory. The best parts in 2001 are on this thing.

The RXX is one bad machine.

But those two are sweet

10 minutes from my office,
already been to look at them,,, twice... the RX is a DI and its Toast, !, the GTXL is completely locked up with high hours, the only thing nice about the deal is the trailer. they look better in the pic's :)

they are worth half the asking price, and he won't go that low, (ask me how I know that lol)

no, they only said.. "oh, she'll run, just been sitting for a while" but he knows better now, its locked up, the pump doesn't appear locked, PTO does not turn, over 130 hours which means even if crank is good, its bad, exhaust leaks, gauge has water in it (and its been inside for a year), seat needs recovered, engine rebuild/replace pump service/rebuild, no battery of course, steering is very very sticky, but the good news...
Reverse lever works !

assuming the pump isn't the cause, if you pop the PTO cover and try to turn it and it doesn't move... your locked.

that package, sadly is worth about 1100 to somebody that is willing to do all their own work and has access to dealer prices on parts and wants to work on it for their personal use.

There was also a 951 ski right on the same road for sale, i was trying to work out a 3 ski deal, and frankly, if all three were straight 951's I might have been willing to spend more, Frankenstein one good engine out of all the misc, and go from there. the DI actually was the deal breaker

and yes, on occasion, you buy a ski that the owner thinks is locked, you pull the pump and she spins, but it doesn't happen THAT often.

2007 sea doo gti se 135 hp . has 30 hrs on engine. needs steering cables and tune up. Starts right up has new battery. needs a little Tlc.

spim, if you need someone to buy a gtx 951 with you, lemme know :) I needa buy stuff with you, that way I won't get into something over my head, the owner of the rx and gtx did tell me it was locked up, and was gonna take $1500 for it
 
That does look like a tasty deal. Thing is Nam, I'm way too deep in X4's to consider something with huge performance, fuel capacity, and value. Actually I'm scared to death of something that may render my pack of skis useless. I'll keep going about it the hard way(modding X4's to be more like that stock) and save the RX's for folks who make more sense.

well i'm far from an expert, (really far) but I've bought and sold a number of ski's and I haven't been burned yet, but usually because I keep my initial price low enough that even if it turns out to be a problem, I can sell enough parts to break even and walk away.

When buying a broken ski you really have to take the Rick from pawn stars approach, assume the worst, buy at rock bottom, and if it turns out to be a runner then your way ahead, if it turns out to be a pit, your working for minimum wage making a runner, but you won't lose much.

That gtx is a good example, if the price point is low enough then it might be a good buy, and you might find out the pump is locked and the motor just needs a once over or a top end and you have a runner. Strip & sell the DI parts for cash, save the DI hull for a conversion project, but you'll still have 2000 invested in a 2600 ski with an old crank and a ton of time invested, put a new crank in it and now you have 2400 invested in a 2600 dollar ski and your time (lots of time), your much better off at that point just looking for a good running ski.

wonder what else it has wrong.

My guess is that the owner is overseas in the service or a family member just died and they want to get rid of it. It's in storage, but if you send them the money, they can have it shipped to you for no additional charge. SCAM.......

Those 4 skis on trailer came up here too. I think it came up already.
