Well it was kind of a crappy day here so since I have 2 other ski's to ride I decided to winterize my 96GTI. I started by changing the pump oil looked up into the pump, the wear ring was just about gone.

This is the third season on the wear ring. I have not had a problem with cavitation but I have noticed a slight hesitation under WOT. I don't understand how it ran so well unless it happened the last time I put the ski on the trailer.

I ordered an OEM wear ring and neoprene seal from Parker Yamaha. Here's some pics.

where ya'll parkin that ski Lou? Looks like a couple a beavers were knawing on that thing. It's more worn than Pa's Sunday Go to Meetin britches.

Yea, *I like to shit! I reacon some of Ellie May's critters been knawin on my SeaDoo. I parked it down by Pa's still. Maybe them beavers was drunk. Or them woodchucks might have got tired of chuckin wood.

Lou

*Cousin Criss, that's another Kentucky expression for "I was surprised".

Do you guys know the difference between a Northern Fairy Tale and a Southern Fairy Tale?
a: A northern fairy tale begins with "Once upon a time".
A southern fairy tale begins with "You ain't gonna believe this shit".

Do you know a Redneck's last words?
a: "Hold my beer while I try this".

Geez Jake. You pull the bloody thing out ,put it on a hook and go fishin'.That's how you get big arsed fish.
Don't you remember what big poppy told us."don't worm the family, and you'all have a full belly"

just a skunk sniffing me bum for grubs

Don't scare the poor thing or put some smell on it.It won't know what's hit it.Remember that time you threw your underpants at the neighbours.them and the next two houses had to move out,That was funny untill the department of health made us clean it up.mmmmmmmm Now that I remember. It was not good.but .you got the town award for getting rid of all the stray cats. That was a good thing

The saga continues....the life of Jake, his cousin bro Lou and their bro cuz crisso....

ahhhhh Fresh air, but give me Times square.
???????, but give me Park Avenue.

I Have a question....

How come... when kids are bad... we can't just eat them??? Every other animal in the world is able to eat their young !!

I wanted to have an end of season BBQ... but the wife made me go out and buy hamburgers.

We put a lot of time and effort into bringing up the young ones.We have to teach them all the important things in life and steer them in the right direction.By the time they can wipe their own backsides,go get the paper from the front lawn.grab you a beer from the fridge and get it back to you without dropping or shaking it all up.And that's all before they are 4.Thats 4 years of hard work on our behalf.
Hey.We can always make another kid but then we have to do it all again.
Then when we are really old, they can wipe our bums, get the paper from the front lawn for us and grab us another beer from the fridge.
Thats my thoughts but the experts may chime in on this also.

Doc - If you were allowed to eat your kids then there would be no one to carry on the "Honda" name.
We wouldn't know how to fix the skis....LOL

I've tried it, they're not that good. I guess it's all the junk food, McDonald's, and other crap they eat. Barbeque sauce helps some by they're still tough and stringy. It's kinda like grass feed beef vs. grain feed. Really not worth the effort.

When you said about Children protective service... that reminded me of something.

When the wife was still preg with our second kid... there was a sign at the hospital about the "Safe Haven" program. That's a program that allows you to drop off a baby with no questions asked. (Giving it up for adoption) Well... we were there for an ultrasound, and my mother happened to be with us. It was slow, so I went up to the nurse at the counter, and asked about it... and after a few minutes of a real conversation... I said... "Well, I was asking on behalf of someone else, and they would like to drop of their son." At that point, I turned to my mom, and said... "if you still want to get rid of me, just sign these papers."

I thought the nurse on duty was going to piss herself, (From laughing) and my mom beat me when I sat back down. (FYI, I'm 39) I guess you are never too old to get beat by your mom,

100_0485.JPG100_0480.JPG100_0484.JPG100_0482.JPG100_0475.JPGWell my winter project took just over a month to complete. My wife says not to worry she has plenty of "winter projects" for me to do. Here's some pictures of the project, there really wasn't much to to mechanically, replaced the fuel lines, cleaned the carb. filters, new fuel selector, etc, cleaned the rave valves, pretty much routine stuff. She runs great.

I painted the gauge cover and handlebar cover yellow, not the original colors, but I think it looks pretty good. I just finished putting on the new numbers and gauge cover graphics, Tony (Dr Honda), did them for me, they really look great especially the gauge cover.

Goin to the lake tomorrow. Anyway here's some pictures.

Nice job by both of you.
I'm doing my winter projects this week, Removed pump to change oil-(found a small stick and saw 1 missing nut with 2 washers), replaced oil filter, greased PTO, installed new in-line fuel filter, cleaned one RAVE, (not too dirty so I'm not removing the manifold to get to the other). Just waiting for some parts from Minnetonka4me before replacing post and put everything back together. I wish he would answer my PM soon.

SBD, you don't need to remove the manifold to remove the PTO side RAVE valve. Just unscrew it in place (turn the black disk under the cap). Also I hate to tell you this after you have done the work, you don't need to remove the pump to change the pump oil. Just remove the cone (3 small bolts).

Lou

Rave- it looks awful tight in there, I'll give a try.
I knew about the pump oil but I wanted to check everything. Come to find out the little rubber nipple at the shaft side of the impeller was torn and water leaked into the shaft/ spline area. Plus I saw that I was missing 1 of the four bolt nuts & 2 washers that holds the pump on. Also replacing some o-rings.
Thanks for the tip about RAVE V....I'll let you know tonight if it worked.
