I'm loving these winter builds. Especially these mod builds

Yah definitely keeping me busy and enjoy keeping an eye on the other builds.

What did that seat cover run, I'm thinking I need that lol

$145 + shipping. Way nicer than any other brand I've seen. I was a little aggrevated they screwed up the stitching it was supposed to be yellow stitch on the black vinyl.

the contrast with black/yellow stitching is quite nice, that's how mine was. But hard to complain about JT's work, always top notch.

about 15% of the value of a normal x4 :) (although this puppy isn't normal)

If I remember correctly about $160 shipped.
Let's just say it won't be 15% of this ski, lol.

Yah I really should have sent back the seat to have them get it right but I just don't have time to mess with it. I've got 2 days home a week so gotta keep moving. Quality is superb though.

I finally solved my quest to find the perfect UMI cable/wire protector grommet. I couldn't find anywhere online indicating what to use as a replacement I could only find ppl saying it's not really needed. Well I wasn't risking wires chafing on an expensive EGT gauge (5 sets of wires alone) + start/stop, throttle, etc on a $3 grommet.

So after hours of looking at stores and online here is the pretty much perfect match.

Dorman Dipstick Tube Grommet #65113. It fits the stock hole perfectly and will protrude through the UMI plate and through the fiberglass with extra rubber to spare. You can obviously trim if u think its too long. Hopefully this saves some others from the annoying search both I and Scott had recently. Found several things close but it was nagging me, lol. $3.29 at Advance auto but online at amazon and many other places.

Probably not a bad idea in your situation.

Spent Sunday wet sanding then buffing and waxing the upper hull. Although the white looked really good, there was a lot of ghosting where the old reg and other stickers were. A little over 3 hours and looks pretty much like new.

I also got the sponsons mounted. I didn't like the way the washers looked on them so took back off and painted them with black appliance epoxy paint. I'm hoping that holds up but we'll see.

I was originally going to run 96 xp electronics but only have the micro touch for the 97 spx.

Can I add the Multi Function gauge to the 97 mpem??

Yes you only need power from the MPEM when the ignition is on. The other wires go elsewhere. Pink to the fuel tank, blue to the oil tank, tan is temp, red is voltage, black ground, etc.

I've been busy with work and wedding stuff so not much time to work on the ski recently. I was able to get out of work travel this week so finally got the pipe and mani cleaned, painted, and cleared.

Alright 3 weeks of no ski progress but back home and ready to start finishing things up.

Has anyone ever tapped an R&D Intake for oil injection? The throat looks very thick so not sure if I could just drill and use stock injectors. I hate my one ski on premix so really don't want that.

You are reving a modded ski harder, plus the oil in the gas protects the inside of those nice Novi's you are running.

16 Oz of oil per 5 gallon of gas is 40:1. I have a bottle of oil I keep in the storage compartment for just in case

1of500 thanks! I guess that does eliminate an expensive new oil pump in was planning on getting.

With a modded ski you probably won't want to get gas at a marina any way they don't all carry 93 octane

Yah I have a mixing bottle and spare quart in my GTI but that has a ton more storage space and has leaked in there before. The GTI is either being sold or I'm adding the pump back this spring after the other 10 projects in my head.

Well it looks like you got this all wrong. You should so run stock carbs, this way you can do oil injection. Since I talked you in to that I'll take them carbs for $150 and I'll even cover the fees......[emoji5]

By the way I hope the wedding went good lol

Haha DEAL!! I could run the buckshots from Braley with injection but figured I'd try the Novis first.

Thanks the wedding was awesome. Truly blessed we had 50+ friends and family travel to another country to be with us. After 2 weeks of paradise it's been a rough reality check being back!!
