No. I'm not worried abt it though I didn't use it to paint the pipe or manifolds. Just head, mag cover, rave housings, so nothing that should get hot. It's sandwiched between engine primer and engine clear on those parts also.

Those can get hot. The instructions even have a "sizzle test" performed by dripping a little water on it after a WOT run. Personally I run more water through them so they don't get too hot. Your giving up some performance that way but it helps with reliability.

Which FPP spec 2 rec chamber should I run? The black one has the tail cone stinger fitting so not sure which route to take.

The stinger fitting helps keep the hoses cooler and adds a little tunability. You probably want to jet it with a 80 or 90 and then a 140 or so in the waterbox.

Thanks as always Matt! I might as well run the one with the stinger and could always block off if for some reason I couldn't get it right.

Updates from the weekend were as follows.
- New steering cable installed
- side vents painted
- tons of bolt heads painted
- rave housings painted
- nozzle trim ring painted yellow
- starter painted
- mag cover/flywheel reinstalled (new pickup)
- engine mostly assembled (Seadoo gods decided to play easter egg hunt with my trimmed raves and still haven't found them after 1.5 hrs [emoji35])
- 2016 Seadoo grips installed

2016 seadoo grips. Look a little funny on the right side, I wish the throttle plate would butt up against the grip like the starter button holder, but that pushes the throttle to a weird spot.

Here is a pic of left before and after pushing the button housing against the grip.

And engine minus those damn missing raves. Waiting until it's in the hull to put the exhaust mani on. Carbs just sitting there for now.

I like the purple vents. Now that's a seat!
Thanks, that's what I bolted and riveted on last night so sticking with purple. Would love to machine an aluminum spacer for the throttle grip or even print something on a 3D printer at some point to fill that gap, but that's a task for later if I do end up liking the 2016 grips.

Ugh, lose those bat wing grips. Comfortable or not they're fugly. Other than that the ski is looking cherry.

I changed bars to see if I could get the stock cover to fit, but where I like the bars they are too far forward for the cover anyways. I'll likely switch back but will give these a few test runs first. I already have too much to break my face on the bars so the smaller pad doesn't really do it for me.

Also got switch done but I didn't realize you can't fit switch covers over the buttons and I don't like that.

I also fabricated a mount for the Koso which attaches right to the UMI. Here are a few pics.

I put a junk seat on for mockups so I don't screw up my jettrim.

That seat!!!! Damn I like it

Thank you for changing those grips. Ski is looking nice. What are the buttons on the throttle side? Just having a hard time seeing what's in the other holder.

Haha. These bars had a very coarse area on the left I had to file down to get either set of grips on. I'm still gonna try the others but only of I switch bars again. That grippy surface would have destroyed the bat grips sliding them on.

The switch on the throttle is the bilge on/off. Wish the billet holder was smaller and that the cable exited the side though.

Progress for today was decent. I spent a few hours cleaning the garage as I couldn't find tools/parts anymore, lol.

- Gas and oil tanks cleaned and installed
- Engine installed and aligned
- Pipe and silicone hose kit installed (wanted the blue but Nick was out. Red doesn't look too horrible, especially since it matches the rave caps. I thought black would just look stock, lol.)
- Intake polished and installed
- Rave valves installed
- EGT sensors installed in the header

Finally starting to feel like this is getting somewhere!

I know im going to get slammed for this, but its a custom build. I say ditch the graphics. I thought the 97's by far had the worst graphics, and one of my fav X4 builds was from the guy in Iowa, cant remember his S/N now, but he did a real nice build and took them off. I love the yellow bottom with a white top and a custom seat and UMI. Prob my fav looking custom ski. Just my .02 cents :)
