    99 GSX Resonator melted.

If there's still any doubt on the size to get, grab both. Use what you need and return the other when you go back to work on Monday. Anything to save burning that gas back and forth!

    Carb issue?

Ok, finally got around to working on this. In the midst of trying to get this done, my son's truck lost a head gasket, so that took priority. Got the carbs off. The Mag carb looked pretty clean. The PTO on the other hand, it's probably my culprit. The filter had a good bit of gunk in there...

    Carb issue?

OK, will get to work on the carbs then. I was just making sure I was going the right direction. Looking at threads, I notice some say that some rebuild kits are not good. Is the kit from SBT good? http://www.shopsbt.com/sea-1995-xp/35-160.html or should I look somewhere else?

    Carb issue?

Hey all, I rebuilt a 1995 XP last year, got it running on the trailer, but never got to get it going on the lake. We finally took it out for the first time today for a attempt, and had some issues. We put it in the water and it fired up perfectly. Purred like a little kitten. Water coming...

    Pump Oil Change

That not for pump oil though, is it? I thought pump oil was some 75w90 or something similar.

Our local Ace Hardware has a huge fastener section. I've been able to find just about anything I need there.

First full day out on ski ends in a tow

So, I checked out the beeper and it works like a champ. I took the lead off the temp sensor on top of the motor and grounded it. Beeps perfectly. Light on the dash lights up. So, I thought that meant that the temp wasn't the issue. But, to be sure it wasn't the sensor causing it to not beep, it...

First full day out on ski ends in a tow

Could be overheating I suppose. I didn't hear a beep, but I'm not sure the beeper is working truthfully. I didn't notice a light on though. I'll try to test the beeper soon. Compression is a 140 each cylinder. Not perfect, but I don't think it's horrendous. These were brand new plugs. BR8ES...

First full day out on ski ends in a tow

Ok, first off, this site is amazing. I have learned so much just reading everything. I've posted a couple of things, but mostly just piggybacked on other threads. Today was the big day. After a few short trips out just testing a few things, we had a day at the beach planned. I topped off the...

One oil injector line not full of oil

The air comment got me to thinking. I just went outside and started following the line back from the block to the oil injector. I noticed that the little connector that the line goes into and it bolts to the pump (check valve?) looked to be caught on a screw on the pump. I must have let my son...

One oil injector line not full of oil

I replaced the oil injection lines on my '95 XP with the clear ones. The one on the mag side, I can see that it is full of oil. The PTO side, I could have sworn that it was full of oil at the dock when I spot checked everything after a quick test run. But now in the garage, it has got air all...

I just ordered a few samples to see how it looks. I'll let you know how it turns out.

    Seat Cover

My wife just redid the seat on our '95 XP. We bought marine vinyl from allvinylfabrics.com. You can buy $1.00 samples to verify the color you want. We got two samples for about 3 bucks shipped. The fabric was about $20 total shipped. Is it perfect? No, but it's pretty dang close. There's one...

Should I loctite the head bolt's, cylinder bolts and exhaust bolts?

Well, those bolts on the head that say to put loctite on the head, I neglected to do that. I hooked the engine up to the hose and got some water leaking from under those bolts! So, I suppose that'd be the reason. :)

    Rotary Valve Timing Expert Help

I can't answer all those questions, I'll let the ones with more knowledge go for that. But, I saw this video linked in another post and it made me realize that I had put my rotary valve on complete bass ackwards. I swapped it around and my motor fired right up. Maybe you can glean some of the...

please help!!! 92 seadoo gtx electrical issue

You can also get loaner tools for your local auto store. I used a generic flywheel puller from Advance Auto parts. Paid the full $100 for the kit, but returned it later that day for a full refund. They keep many different specialty tools around just for that purpose.

1995 XP starter and/or battery problems

Success! Last night I replaced all the old gray lines, added an inline filter, and cleaned out the carbs and fuel selector switch. That selector was BAD. Still would fire up. Went to bed last night prepared for a full carb rebuild. This morning I browse the forums and see a thread about the...

99 GTX RFI sputters but doesn't start

Pickles, don't feel bad. After reading this I realized I did the exact same thing. Just swapped it around the right way and the motor fired right up!

1995 XP starter and/or battery problems

Well, I pulled the starter. When I got it on the bench, I noticed that I hadn't cleaned up the black wire on the battery. I cleaned that up. I went ahead and took the starter apart. The brushes didn't look too bad, but I don't know much about starters. Put it all back together and now it's...

1995 XP starter and/or battery problems

Guys, I'm almost at the end of frankensteining a couple of XPs together. I've got everything back together, motor wise. It looks and feels good as far as that goes. Compression is sitting at 139/140. Now I'm having problems getting the starter to turn the motor over. I bought a new Wal...
