One oil injector line not full of oil

I replaced the oil injection lines on my '95 XP with the clear ones. The one on the mag side, I can see that it is full of oil. The PTO side, I could have sworn that it was full of oil at the dock when I spot checked everything after a quick test run. But now in the garage, it has got air all in it.

Is it possible for one side to work and the other not? Or was I possibly correct that I saw the oil in there at the dock and it somehow ran out of the line in the interim?

Generally no... but anything is possible. The thing that would worry me is why is there air in it? The air has to come from somewhere. Since the manifold is under vac when the engine is running... to draw the oil out... air has to come in the other side. I would take the pump off, and verify all the bolts and hose clamps are tight.

Damn Dr. Honda, you are too fast.

Whenever you change the lines you should open the bleed screw to make sure air is out of the pump. When you start it make sure you are holding the pump arm full open and just let the ski idle until you see all the air out of the lines, this will allow the pump to pump full volume and at an idle the lack of oil for a moment will not harm the engine. I thought mine was out of oil but it is hard to see down in the hull. Take a scrap of white paper and put it under the oil line so you can see the oil in the line better. It might just be the way the light is shining through the oil and hose making it look empty??

I have not seen the oil pumps only pump on one line so you might want to check with one of the experts like DR. Honda. I would not ride it again until you confirm you are getting oil to both cylinders.

The air comment got me to thinking. I just went outside and started following the line back from the block to the oil injector. I noticed that the little connector that the line goes into and it bolts to the pump (check valve?) looked to be caught on a screw on the pump. I must have let my son put that part together. It was caught on that piece, causing it not to be seated fully on the pump. I loosened the screw and rearranged it so that it will seat correctly.

Started the motor up and ran the pump full by hand to fill the line with oil. It's been sitting about 30 minutes now and it's still all full. It appears it was simply the valve not tightened well.
