98 SPX Waterbox upgrade. What is specifically different between a 98 SPX waterbox and a 96 XP Waterbox? I had both in my hand and they looked the same from the exterior. I put the 98 SPX waterbox into my modded 96 XP.

i've read that the 98 "flows better" but i've never actually had the opportunity to run them side by side to test that theory, and i've never actually read and specific results with numbers. actually the Waterbox is a relatively easy swap, if you have both, you could run two sets of numbers, rpm and speed i guess, i'd be interested in your results, I have a 98 box from a recent purchase and its just sitting in a crate right now.

97 is the "free flow" year for the SPX water box. The 98-99SPX had the db level dropped from the factory. However your 98 box is an upgrade because the earlier purple boxes were known for having baffles break inside.

Bill Oneil is the one that said he has tested and found that aftermarket boxes are only louder and do not offer a performance improvement over the 97SPX WB.

I need some help from my X4 brothers! If your friends with SBT on facebook go to there page, check out the ugly jetski contest photo album, and "like" the moldy Polaris sl650 labled Matt York. The winner gets a free seat cover and my hump seat needs some seat cover love so help a brother out.

got u taken care of....

Not ever seen Black tip make a hump seat cover, they do stitch them up to order so just make sure someone over there is familiar with the X4 "touring" seat. I'm gonna go place my vote now.

Opps, sorry, I don't do the facebook thing. I'll get the wife to do it tonight.

Matt they do have a touring seat cover under there custom covers. I'm sry I didn't get back to you about that splash guard. I kinda forgot about it. If you still want it I'll take $35 shipped for it via PayPal. It is the short Jet trim guard. Ill send you some pics if you wanna see it. Just lmk.

No where near unreasonable for those two fine specimens. I am sorry to hear that your gettin out of the game. Someone better appreciate that they are getting the two most rare X4's!

i agree, i'd love to have both of them ! spec1, water injection, proks, and prop and i could really settle into both of them. still hate the pink but that looks good enough to save as is. the right buyer will gladly pay asking price but you'll have to weed thru the donkey's first.

i've been a fan of the 99 spx since the first time I saw it.

Thought I would pass on chance if anyone wants single gauge hood for 25 bucks plus shipping.

Had asked for a price for another member here that wanted one but he has been offline.

Shipping is usually under 25 bucks by USPS

Man you ought to get that for those two sweet x4's. Especially come spring time! I like you am kinda wanting something different as I have two x4's, but i'll for sure keep my XP out of the pair. Thinking about a HX or a RX carb. I've rode a 00 RX and loved it, but have never rode a HX so idk how I would like it.

I've got an HX too. It's a blast to ride. Corners very hard. It takes some getting used to. Water boarding is interesting. Some people say it's impossible to ride two up on an X4, I did for a long time, but we rode two on the HX once. You wanna talk about sketchy....

I know its a long ways for most of you but we got big changes in store next year!! We are moving to a new site that has RV parking! That seems to be a big issue for people coming from a long ways.

Looking to be the 2nd week of august if you wanna start planning now! Bouy course, lots of boat traffic, and one of the most picturesque locations in this nation.

Info is at the TCJP link in my siggie...although the sortie info is from this last event. Yup we have lots of sponsors who donate a TON of swag we raffle off every year.

As you can see...I have spread the X-4 addiction.

Heres another sweet shot...still waiting on alot of the riding pictures to be gone thru...

I really love what your doing up there Nick. It's a heck of a long way to drive to ride with ya though. How about Jess starts us one down here in the south? I have a strong urge to bust out some X4 projects and see how they compare.

Im sure Jess will take you out on Lake Travis....but he hasn't started getting more people into X-4s. I got two buddies that both bought 2 last year, couple racing buddies that showed...and I also got some younger Tonka guys that have gotten into the X-4s and they were out there on Saturday as well.

This event was started by the standup freeriders and I was the only seadoo out there. I always got chided on being a couch rider, but it was all in good fun. A few years back the organizer wanted out and no one wanted to do it....so I decided to do it so it didnt die. Its only gotten bigger. We had a wedding on the same weekend so we had about 20 riders missing this year that will be there next year. I am guessing we will break the 100 rider barrier eazy next year!

Nick that sounds like a ton of fun. Wish it wasn't 14 hours away! I think trm and myself are the only guys around here that are into X4's.

I hope Lou didn't hear that.

Nick, I loved the extra pics. I saw a Jetbike, a Jetmate, the way the bottom of my 95XP800 hull is supposed to look, etc. That's my kinda weekend.
