The X4 Thread

Its a sad day in the X-4 community...and I figure this is the best place to put it.

You guys may or may not know 1fastxpp...he wasnt on this site much but was always on PWCtoday. Justin was his name...from PA.

He was killed in a motorcycle accident last Thursday when a school bus pulled out in front of him at a bad intersection.

The guy LOVED his X-4s and has a dream garage full of some of the coolest X-4s...Cf hulls, Big bore motors...everything awesome.

RIP bro...sad to see a fellow X-4 junkie go out like that.

I plan on sending a nice set of flowers to the family...if you wanna toss a couple of bucks in to put together an awesome arrangement we can show the family his passion for X-4s will not be forgotten.

Edit...it deserves to be posted here but on second thought I will start another thread...please post there.

Got the banner hung.

Oh and BTW if you have never pulled the plug boots off and snipped the wires back go out and do it now! I did my SPX and was scratching my head to how it was even running. The PTO plug had like one strand of wire left!!! Its super easy so theres no excuse not to do it.

banner looks awesome!!

how far back did you snip the boot? im thinking about taking care of this

Thanks man. I scored that on ebay last week for $25 SHIPPED!! I just bought that house and I have a 24x22 garage with 12 ft ceilings. Needless to say I need more wall material!!

On the boots just cut the wire tie and kinda pull and twist the boot off the wire at the same time. It threads like a screw. I snipped the wires back about 1/4 inch. You will be able to see the difference in the wire. You do not have to strip the wire. Just put some dielectric grease on the end of the wire and shove it back in the boot. You will feel the wire stop and then just just twist the boot like your tightening a bolt. Then just give the boots a slight tug to ensure there back on good and replace the zip tie. Super simple.

Why does it cost the MOST for a size small...it takes the least amount of material.....

Single Gauge Hood

Got a question, I'm thinking about getting a single gauge hood for my 96XP. The hood is NOS, new old stock, but it's just the hood skin. No hardware, inner panels, seals.

My current hood is the stock hood, two mirrors. My question is, will I be able to use the parts from my existing hood or will I need additional parts to make the single gauge hood work?

Thanks,

Lou
