nice ski, and when you attach it to the list of mods, its a slam dunk purchase and a fantastic price, i would have bought that w/o hesitation assuming it runs & has compression...
i'm not a huge fan of the mirrored hood vs single gauge, but for now, just leave it alone, it looks good.
always keep in mind with a new purchase that something could be lingering inside, that can cause some serious problems pretty quickly, so i'd love to suggest taking the motor apart and do a full inspection down to the crank, but unless you do it yourself, and have the tools, etc, a teardown and inspect isn't cheap.
With that said: unless your really sure this is clean on the inside, I mean really sure, a solid crank no bearing issues, all the water passages are clear and not full of sand, etc, then there is always a risk,
if everything is kosher, the only thing you lose is a couple weekends and a gasket set.
even a little weak link like a crank bearing that can be fixed or just greased can start a nasty chain reaction.
I bought a similar deal and had it NOT been torn down, it wouldn't have lasted 4 hours on the water, it was absolutely disgusting inside ! An engine was saved simply by cleaning it up, taking a good look at the crank, and putting it back together spotless with the only cost being a gasket set and a couple of six packs. (well I did lose a 13mm socket and I still haven't found that dam thing !)
so now that this is YOUR ski, it might be a dam good idea to do a solid once over.
past that, enjoy the ski, hit the throttle hard, harass boat wakes, dodge the poo poo and have a blast !
the fuel issue, well thats what you get with the xp, so, arrange your rides around your range (its not that hard)
the best spare fuel issue (besides a buddy with a cooler/gas rack on his 4 stroke) is the 12 gallon tank, its a PITA but it really does pretty much solve all the fuel issues, its only 3 gallons but you get 33% more fuel ! you can easily pack 1gal in the trunk with the purple bins intact, or a 2.5 (prolly a 3.5) if you remove the purple jugs.
or just do what most of us do, and make a bunch of 35 mile runs, drop 5 gallons in, and head out, rinse and repeat.
