Hi guys

Can you buy the seat covers like you have and fit them or do you have to send the whole seat away to be covered

you can buy all covers and put them on yourself. The 2 and 4" rise seats from jettrim come with the lift. You use contact cement to stick the lifter to the seat, then put the cover on.

It isnt a real fun job without at least 4 hands and a air stapler.

Jettrim are the most expensive, but are MUCH nicer than anything else. Hydroturf is a little cheaper, but only uses smooth vinyl, and Blacktip are the cheapest and are basically the same as HT.

If you get it from Jet trim, make sure to check the website to pick your colors. When you call in tell them Nick from Minnesota sent ya and they will hook you up. Ask nicely and they will make a matching can koolie.

Hey let me know when that gauge gets there...I sent it the same day as your payment.

picked this up couple months ago for 100 bucks, has been sitting since 2004, wouldn't crank or anything not used too much at least half its life used in a lake upstate NY rest at the Jersey shore. I haven't gotten the hours pulled yet but after cleaning/redoing the ground and replacing 2 fuses she cranked over and is over 150psi both cyl. Head bolts are white so im guessing its orig unrebuilt motor. Handlebar pad soaked in water/bleach for 6-7 days cleared the black off, cleaned/lubed vts motor then wired up 451m relay now the vts works, new wear ring and fluid change in the jetpump and antirattle kit, two new rear motor mounts, drained the gas out and put all new black fuel lines in. All gauges work just have to put on the carbs and ProK's.

I've got one more left for sale...I get $100 shipped. Just sold one locally yesterday. One of the most popular mods out there. They were stock on SP/SPI/SPX....

Here's my hoods...

you really like those two color mats don't you ?

two of my buddy's have that camo stuff, and i really don't like the look at all... but they both love it !

whats a great thread, i recently got a 96xp after doing alot of research on a fun/reliable waverunner. I tried out a neighbors old 95xp and had a blast. I usually ride around on very close friends 08 gtx limited SC and what a difference between x4's and the new "boats". I'll get a few pics up soon of the project. What gauge do you guys usually put in the mirrorless hood? Im guessing fuel gauge and eliminate the speedo/trim?

Scott

Tim I do like the camo style...mostly to bring together all the colors. Black is also nice, but isnt as eye catching. It does fade fast, but a quick blast with the power washer and they are like new.

Just got finished with pinkie too...more "camo"...LOL She's getting black trim off a GTI next spring.

Speed...yup I have the LCD in the single gauge hood, and the VTS will work w/o the gauge. You can also drill a hole in the dash if you absolutely need it.

Full UMI, manual trim setups on the left side. Grab it and the nozzle goes down.

u know, chuck had that on his 93 for awhile then we took it off, didn't quite work as well as expected, we put him back on manual trim.

ps tonka, i'm still on the lookout for one more manual trim, (so keep ur eyes open) and also one of the umi stop start's with the reversed thumb throttle, i want to eliminate vts altogether and go manual, for there's no point in vts anymore, i almost never change it and manual is pretty dam easy and certainly less prone to breakdown.
I think I have two, if not 3 working vts modules right now sitting in a box, prolly time to throw a couple on fleabay.

What year ski are your vts modules out of? I need a working one for my 97 gsx. I think they are the same between my 96 xp, just maybe different connectors at worst.

The wires are long on the XP VTS; you would need to shorten and add the connectors off your old one. I perfer to crimp new connectors vs. splicing wires.

When you shorten...make sure to pay attention to the black wires...one is for power and one is for the buttons. Mix them up and you'll have another busted VTS.

I have many VTS housings, motors, covers with 3 good tabs, seals, boots, and correct boot clips in stock.

i believe both of mine are off 96 xp's, although I may have one off a 97 but haven't really familiarized myself with the difference between 96 and 97.

regarding the above question of single gauge hood , i use the info center, which gives me electrical, fuel, and oil (useless since i'm premix) but its mainly for fuel only.... and I really only use it as a fuel "guide" rather than a solid reading, it seems to me that I always have a bit less fuel than the gauge reads.

I "think" this is a pic of the small one.

The white/grey camo would look perfect. Then get a single gauge hood and paint it black and a Jettrim seat cover.

Yeah the diamond does look awesome...esp the 2 color, but it just doesnt hold up.

Where in WI are you? We got a early summer ride planned in the Dells, and of course the event of the year...LOL THE SORTIE in Lake City, MN the 3rd weekend of aug.

Im in La Crosse WI, Hour and half from the dells. I am definitively interested (when and where? lake Dalton?). Lake city is not far either, I would like to come to that one also!

Definitely...and I have many in stock. You would need to run a wire if you wanted the temp light to work...otherwise its just a matter of mating up the connectors...which I can do before shipping.

would it have to be modified, since i don't think i have a 6 pin connector on the ski? what wire do you have to add to allow for the temp gauge, a ground wire? i think i cant remember bu the sensor only has 1 correct?

yeah you have a 6 wire and 2 wire...the only things you would have to run would be that tan temp sensor wire, and a 12v unswitched wire.

My x4s. First ever PWCs I have ever owned. I have owned many ski-doos but never a sea-doo. So far I have replaced both starters, fuel lines and cleaned the carbs. A full mechanical breakdown and inspection is planned over the winter. Minnetonka4me's posts have also made it clear to me that I need some seat covers and single gauge hoods.

Hi All,

Just a quick question on the exhaust, I seem to have developed a small hole and noticed water jetting out of it when I was flushing it today. It is on the one of the two small round welds on top of the purple section of the exhaust just after the white manifold.

I assume this needs to be welded or can it be braised, any advise would be appreciated.

Dr. Honda.. I LOVE your XP!! If you ever want to sell it.. call me!! :)

Thanks... but that was a 3 year search looking for a non-molested XP, that was in good condition... and that they didn't want WAY more than market price for it.

Right now, there is no thoughts of selling it... but who knows... My tastes change all the time.

Yup a guy with an aluminum welder can fix that right up.

i've read how bad some of the handlebar pads get on x4's and mine was no different mold/mildew spots all over it, tried soft scrub, brush, cleaner after cleaner with no luck. water/clorox mix soaking for almost a week cleared it up. Prior to using the clorox mix i tried abrasives and it just started to scratch the cover, worked great highly recommend it!
