Do you have plans for the hump seat

Not really. Foam looks to be in decent shape it just needs to be recovered. I like the looks of the hump seat but I think I'd rather have a riser seat on the ski I'm building.

So I can't get the UMI off this ski. The steering arm seems to be fused to the stem at the square part. I beat the shit out of it with a hammer and crowbar but it didn't budge. The bearings are shot so I'm not worried about destroying them. I was thinking about heating it up with a torch but wasn't sure. Any ideas?

Blowtorch.

Geez, just try soaking it a few days. Then hit it with a bernz-o-matic torch, then spray while hot, then a little heat, spray. Then try working it a little at a time.

Will do, thanks! I soaked it with PB blaster last night so I'll repeat that with some heat when I get back tomorrow.

If you could get the tool to grab maybe a tie rod end or pitman arm puller would work. Could rent for free from autoparts store to try it out.

Good luck...I bought one like that a few years ago and the guy goobered the threaded part all up trying to get it off. Be careful, its just aluminum.

On that one we cut the stud off and threaded a bolt in. And used loctite. thats the reason that had it, to put a lock nut on.

Whiskey, if you can pull the stem from the steering shaft, by removing the 4 bolts, you can drop the entire unit out and work on it on the bench. I have repaired one that the bracket was broken, the bearings seized and the stem frozen to the steer shaft. There is now no play in it at all. Shoot me a PM if your interested in a repair.

It hurts bidding each other up like that. I hate sending any extra money over to some Brit. If you guys are bidding against me say something. I'm always the one bidding on a potential deal or something rare.

Matt, by chance do you have any of those old "NOVI NOVI NOVI" stickers that the racers had on the front of their hulls back in the day? I've been looking for them for years.

Shoot I didn't see that! I should have stayed out of it, sorry. I'd give up the friendlier site format to get back the instant post notifications. That one never showed up on my email.

No I don't have the Novi decals but Novi is still around. They did that on boats they sponsored so they may have never been for sale. They could always be remade though.

You have anything planned out for these novi's?
