So tired of looking at pics of the inside of your hull. Finish the damn thing and go ride. I wanna see pics of this thing tearing it up at the lake. LOL...good job.

That link is for the new oem starter I bought for $70

That's a GREAT PRICE for that, right? And New Old Stock means new and never used, just an original part from all those years ago, right? So that gasket below where the positive cable goes, that orangy color, is that rust?

No that's a insulator

I got the alignment close it still has a slight bind before it all the way in I've moved it 50 different ways with shims so I guess this is as good as it will get. I can't remember if there were any shims in between the pump and hull. Wonder if that's where the bind is coming from

That sucks. I even saw joe st Lewis from sbt say that after using the alignment tool, if it's still not aligned to use shims on the pump. If that's necessary then that probably means the pump shoe or the back of the ski wasn't molded flat from the factory I guss ....hmmm

I have had some that the alignment tool goes in with one finger and one that never was perfect.
My completely stock 03' GTI that had never been apart with all factory shims reinstalled was off a little. After 3 hours trying everything there was still a little tight spot with the alignment tool that I just couldn't get to go away. Has been fine for years.
In my opinion if there is a small tight spot but it generally goes in all the way you will be fine. Remember the tool is made to allow no tolerance and provide perfect alignment but the couplers and driveshafts are made to allow a small amount of alignment and even hull flex.
In this situation I think very close is good enough.

Making progress have to relocate the fuel pump again. Added a fuel gauge looked into the wiring diagram and pinned it to the mpem.

I'm going to attempt to use the purple and black that's laying there to power up the egt gauge.

Getting there my back is killing me from being stooped over in this hull decided to finish the exhaust in the morning

Amazing. Yea I know the feeling. Let me tell you, fwiw, the HX was a refreshing change of pace working in that hull compared to the spx, I'm guessing the RXX is more like working under an x4 than the HX. Thing is looking sweet though. Literally showski with all that clean anodized work under there.. Did you ever end up using/buying that silicone/rubber coupler for the exhaust?

I have some silicone bands that go around the joints if that's what you are referring to
