It's the 1000 deductible that sucks.

I'm in the business and I know its a little too late to pass along this advice, but generally the difference between 500 and 1K is negligible, usually like $25-30 a year at best, I always carry $500, although FWIW, I wouldn't turn it in unless its over 1K because claim frequency rates on auto policies can have a real negative impact on your premium, so i've written a few checks over the past 3 decades to make a problem disappear.

Shop said I tweeked the frame rail was an off center impact. Estimate of 1800 plus

I tried to go around them but didn't make it. I pay bi-anually the difference was 300 per year

Isn't that the truth. It is something my wife doesn't get. I do my best to handle all claims outside of insurance if I can help it. Meanwhile, my wife says what good is insurance if you aren't going to use it.

Insurance is there when I forget to put the truck in park on the boat ramp, not for the shopping cart ding on the drivers door.

Sorry about that bummer 1 of five.

Whisky I have a good used 787 piston and cylinder and all the gaskets cheap if you want to bring the SPX and go for it. I'm happy to wrench with ya.

Kripsy you should bring that GSX with the carb issue also. I'm sure my skis will give me some things to do but I like to stay busy. Maybe get a couple kits, and a fuel valve from Minne if it's a keeper.

I might need some help at the ride if anyone is game to dig into some carbs.

All of the 2 stroke skis will probably need minor tuning since it will be cooler

Sounds great we will get them dialed in.

It's time for you guys to pick the skis I will bring. Which ones do you want to check out and ride? I'd like to bring the little HX but nothing is set in stone.

I have the carbon fiber GSX

The "Extremely Modified X4"

The RXX (does not have twin pipes)

Those are all good runners. Other options are untested as of now.

What about the twin pipe xpl is it up and running yet

I'd take the mag pump off the rxx and use it for the xpl since you don't want to add dual cooling to the mint one you have. Just drop an old 155mm pump on the rxx since it's detuned

I've been testing the X4 and it's north of 60 but I'm swapping pumps and maybe using a taller prop to bring revs(and temps) down a little. It runs great and is great for longer cruises with that big tank.

The XPL does run well on the stand but I've never dunked it. Hopefully I can get these others tuned up to an acceptable point in the next few days and then I can see about trying it out.

That would be awesome! I'll get us some beer, something good to grill and we'll knock it out. I pulled the head and it looks like it ran lean which in turn burned a small hole in the edge of the piston. I stole the fuel filter for another ski and then ran dirty marina gas through it so I'm pretty sure I'm at fault for this one. I'll have everything prepped for installation when I get to GA. PM with some prices. Motor has ~60 original hours so I'm thinking the bottom end should be good as long as the seals are still healthy. The mag cylinder still looks good and has 150psi.

I'd love to ride that HX!! As well as the carbon GSX, Zebra X4 and RXX :drool5: haha. If I had to pick two I'd say the HX and zebra! :driving:

I wanna see that XPL personally, zebra, and the hx on the front of the trailer!

Sounds like its gonna be a wrench fest!

What's up with dagre? Did he get situated

I don't know I have not heard from him. I can get one of his going or he could ride one of mine. After repairs it sounds like we will all have multiple options.

Minne sounds good. Let me see what I can do with that XPL this weekend

If you were coming I'd consider it. That one I need a couple weeks to concentrate on though. We were talking about a larger ride in the spring so that would be the time.

Whiskey how does your cylinder look? Maybe just a hone and a piston, rings, needle bearing?

Apparently we don't mean as much to Matt as ole Reynolds(doesn't own a Seadoo anymore)! Lol hahaha jk

I know for sure I have to swap flywheels and will likely change pipes. I'm not even sure it's gonna float or handle right. I want to have some time to concentrate on it.

Now that I am leaving the GSX I can put my tune time into the XPL.

I believe it's still in good shape but I'll double check it when I get back home on Thursday. I quickly pulled the head the other night and noted the piston looked dry (lean) and had a pin hole in it. I checked out the PTO carb and it was full of sediment so I'm almost positive it got plugged and starved the cylinder of fuel. I probably would have been OK if I didnt push the engine for a couple hundred yards trying to make it back to the dock. It was cold and I was the only boat in sight so I didn't want to get stranded paddling with my hands haha.

Well you know, as much as I love the compliment I'm sure he was talking about racerxxx, they have quite the bromance going on it seems :)

I actually have a JS550 I have pretty much taken over from my father, so that's the only way I get on the water anymore. Ha. I'm sticking to land machines for the time being. I'm always keeping one eye open on the Craigslist boat section for a good dea though ;)
