I'll be honest, if its not cold, i'll be disappointed !

ok, i'm kidding, i'll be thrilled, but I will act disappointed because i'm a man's man. :)

has anybody just cut the fingertips off a pair of neoprene gloves and been happy that they did ?

My ebay specials a bit snug on the tips and scissors would definitely solve the problem.

I'd be interested in a pair of boots and gloves. My thought is that my feet will be wet any time we aren't on plane, but the rest of me will hopefully remain dry. That's the life of an X4 I suppose

I a kicking around the idea of trying to use my buddies gti130se so I can stay dry.

Cause I am a real ladies man! :)

I ride X4's and my HX without getting wet. You just lift your feet at the appropriate time. The HX is tough I admit but still doable even with my new found 20lbs.

Racer- circa 98 is about just right imo

Spim- didn't you get a pair of those Mobby's gloves? Those black ones are good looking for cold weather.

Yes, i I snagged a multi color pair of fingerless moby's. But they are really tight. So I ordered a pair of cheap dive gloves for $12 shipped, super cheap. Never need anything that Hardy down here so I don't care if the quality is bad they might only get used twice.

9/10 rides I use my bell biking gloves, very thin but Uber comfortable, but it's usually hot and they are very flexible, comfortable.

My feet are always wet, newer hulls love to fill up with water, I hate the fact that the footwells got less comfortable as the hulls "improved"

Anybody need a white 97.5 pipe ? A friend of mine has one he'd like to sell but shipping is always a PITA, I can bring it up... $250 for complete pipe + manifold.

Yes I'm very excited. I've been tuning on my skis and getting somewhere. I'm thankful for the upcoming date because it keeps me from blowing off the wet tests and the repairs and adjustments that come after.

I'm serious about stepping up and taking care of some things for the community. I guess a keg of some good beer would be the ticket but I have no idea how to go about it. I'm no cook either but if we are gonna cook some meats or whatever then let me get some dough to the guy who is gonna pick that up.

I am willing to help anyone with ski issues if I can. I'll bring my tuning stuff, tools, and commonly needed spare parts as always but if anybody has anything specific please let me know. I don't have a way to swap impellers in the field unfortunately.

I'm waiting on some pump rebuild parts so I can try out a few different props I have for the 95 xp800. I plan to bring the hx with the factory pipe if anyone wants to get wet lol.

Matt,

Thanks for bringing up some good points, as a group we should try and come up with a tentative agenda or schedule. At a minimum we should have some type of meet and greet social thing that would allow us to learn names and faces. At the risk of sounding lame, I would like to have some hello my name is Chris, aka "Krispy" type tags or something.

I am local so I will have my workshop open to anyone that needs it. I have a bench vice and impeller tools if anyone needs to swap. I am only about 10 mins from the meet up location.

I would welcome someone to help me figure out my carb issue on the GSX, if anyone had a set of known good 787 stock carbs it would be a helpful tool in figuring my problem out.

At any rate, I am looking forward to the trip and meeting y'all.

The orientation should be Friday sometime then any of us can bring newcomers up to speed. I am looking forward to long exploratory runs.

I'm really not sure how many but hopefully we will see all expected and gain a few last minuter's.

Im working hard at being ready to go. Some know but Ill fill the rest in, I flipped my 920 at the end of September and the seat tore off and sunk. I decided being as valuable as it is, that a full tear down was in order that night. Everything was fine just needed to get the water out. Since it was apart I decided to have it all blasted and powdercoated. Motor got assembled and longblocked the last few days, Ill be returfing the ski tomorrow, do a couple more upgrades then drop the motor in early next week. Prop got pitched steeper too. On track for the meet up, but it will be untested unfortunately. Well...maybe, I really dont want to have to antifreeze the system but maybe I will. Ran great before the teardown so it should be good to go.

Also...I will be making a side trip to Detroit on the way. Why? Well, I have a guy who wants a HX I have so Im dropping that off, then picking up.....wait for it.... a Miller VE970. Its not super awesomely setup, no UMI, buckshots...but it does run and has a nice box of spare engine parts. Guy took it in on trade for something with intentions on going thru it but never did and its been sitting in the corner of the garage for the last 3 years. One other nugget is he found a few pages of tuning notes in the bin container.

So...if the weather sux or whatever we could do a quick carb rebuild, tank drain, and maybe get it on the water. Prob wont have current reg but thats alright. If it just sits on the trailer and we all get to discover whats in it and weird mods...thats fine too.

I am also bringing down the 95 800 that had the 787x I rebuilt; Adam is buying it and finishing the restore.

Getting pumped!!

Thanks for the update. I'm happy to hear Adam is getting the XP800 he's been after.

I want to bring my HX as well. It's the lightest so I'm thinking it will go across the front of my three place trailer. I got new tires and alignment on my old Range Rover and I'm gonna throw some more last minute attention it's way before the trip.

Posting weather for a get together is a big no no....lol They dont know chit 24hrs before, let alone 2 weeks.

Getting excited !
Cold weather gear bag is fully packed, which officially means it will be shorts/t-shirt weather.

I'll bring come cooking gear, tongs, spices, etc, although i'm all for ordering out/in as well, but I love me some grilled goodies at midnight to soak up the beer. I have some camping chairs, and a sports toss game (cornhole) that I can toss in and a large cooler, case of water.

I started to pack up a little tool box for known common things and i'll toss it in but y'all don't want me anywhere near a wrench anyway, i'm more likely to break something than fix it.

Still would love a fire pit ! I'm a total pyro when the opportunity presents itself.

ski still needs some last minute details this week, new carbon seal and new seat cover going on by mid week hopefully.

LOL, As soon as I read "sports toss game" I lost it. I knew what you were referencing. Bravo Spim.

Anyone have recommendations on riding boots?

96 XP800!
Keep the 2 strokes alive!

LOL, in the winter us folks who get snow would put plastic bags on our feet so our wet boots wouldn't get our feet wet when we went back out to play. Perhaps you could give that a try.
