In all reality if we had issues with a 500 deposit with 10 peeps were only out $50ea. I personally would rather stay at a sweet pad driving all that way, it will also persuade my brother into going...and my daughter would likely want to tag along too.

I like the idea of getting a house. There were quite a few really nice ones right next to the Landing. I'll post some links in a sec.

This one is really nice, beach and all but $$$ https://www.vrbo.com/685712

These are all near the Landing. A lot of the houses are on the Huntersville/Cornelius side which would be a little ways from the Landing

Looks like any of them would work for the people wanting a house and its right by the landing, so if you wanted your own room you could stay at the landing. I cant wait for this trip, i hope every one can make this work out.

I am down to throw in on a house. The 22nd is my wedding anniversary, but I am going to try and tell the wife this can be how we celebrate.

Now that's good thinking!

Yeah I like the wood house with the big beach. What are the negatives on that one?

Wow lol 20 pages already! I'm late to this party, but totally in! Can't wait. I'm completely absorbed by my boat project, haven't even messed with my x4. Gaston was the last place I rode it and had a cylinder start fouling plugs after an awesome day of riding. can't wait to hit up that lake again, esp with all you fine folks!

I called the lady on the Ideal house with the launch and beach and all that and she thought about it for a min then said no. I looked it up and for a week it would be $5500. I know it sounds insane but I have to ask...is there a couple of guys with wives that want to spend a little more and take it for a week? Obviously they would have rooms, then we could stack up guys in the house on the weekend. As much as I really dont want to take that much time off, I am in love with that place. Im thinking 4 couples/friends willing to pay $900 each...I know its alot, but really a decent hotel room for a week is over $100 a day.

Im sure its a pipe dream but I know Im in.

Otherwise this place https://www.vrbo.com/685712#bookit is $330 per person thurs-sunday for 10 people

I'm sticking with my plan A of a house near the landing that sleeps 6-8 max, assuming I can find suitable partners locally or through the forum here. (I like my naps !)

If not i'll go cheap and do the hotel.

For a killer pad Id probably be down. I know the wife would love that

Although it is our anniversary weekend, my wife is a teacher and doesn't have the ability to take that amount of days off within the school year. So we would likely be in for a weekend + a day at one end or another

Well with the family coming, the home base motel wont work for us. But I plan on booking a room at one of the hotels that are within 15 minutes of there. I don't see putting the family in the big house with the whole crew. I can see a big house would be awesome, but I wont work for us. If it works out that some get a big place and we have a bar b q or some event there, I will certainly pitch in some. (I am pretty good on a grill and would be happy to push out some great beer can chicken or whatever).

Yea, I have to save up for an overseas trip this summer, so I'm looking at either the campsite option, or maybe just staying with my buddy who lives near downtown. How many people are thinking of doing the camping option?

i would do the camping thing, they do have a nice state park with a beach, but I really like the landing idea...

I like your idea with the bar b q and i would be willing to put some money in as well.

I'll most likely do the landing so I can invite whoever. I'm definitely not camping at the state park. They normally lock the gates at sundown so you'll be trapped all night. Plus, I think state parks don't allow alcohol

Dang, I'm in for landing! No beer, well shit

It's the motel on the water. It will most likely be the spot most members stay at. Waterfront rooms, ramp, and a dock. They have a restaurant and bar as well

Does anyone have a boat that they plan to bring? If I had another tow vehicle I would drag mine up. I think it would be nice to have a boat with us as well.

It would be cool to do a late afternoon Poker Run, then meet somewhere for some good eats on Saturday. I could make up a "trophy". or we could throw in a buck or two into a pot for the winner. But if we are going to do a cookout, then we may need to ask the landing people if that is OK. Or do it at a private house. Or have the landing just cater it.

Would be very nice to have a boat or two with us. We need a way to carry gas and beer to the island haha. I've got a Pontoon at our lake property on Clarks Hill but no trailer to get it up here. On a side note, We should get up and ride one weekend there AdamXP800

Sounds fun, I bet Spim will smoke us all on that RXT. The big boosted skis are much easier to ride fast in big chop compared to an X4
