I know, I've heard "this guy" describe himself in like a thousand different CL scam attempts. Now Nam meets him in person?

Ha-ha, don't want to discredit a great soldier that's fought for us over there. However a number of those POS scammers has tried to earn a strangers respect by claiming a similar story.

That boat in a POS condition, I'd still take it. Like I said it is the most desirable to me. I searched from Vermont to North Carolina in August of 99 for mine. Found it at this shady dealer an hour from me. They are a refrigeration/Seadoo dealer, very cool guys to deal with, it was almost like going to their house to buy it.

I understand, but I may want this in place of my mint 52 hour 08 SCIC that I have had since new, so I'm going to be a little picky :D. As of right now, I am heading up there in the AM :D.

Good luck Kwickski!!! (sorry but that's what I read when I see your name). Hey, don't be afraid to to hit her with a $1200 offer before you hand over that 15.

Looks like reg. # NY 2004 UT

I'll be honest, that was part of why I was unsure as well! Just had that all too familiar ring to it... Not to sound like a stalker, but I searched their email address and wifes name (who the emails were from) on Google and Facebook and he is a Military pilot, once I saw Nammer say that he was Military, I was confident they are legit. There are plenty of pics of them on Facebook, and a few of him in Uniform. I'd say they are late 40's, early 50's, don't have the "scammer" look to them. According to Linkedin, she is or was a Money Store owner as well lol.

Like I said, I hope I don't sound like a stalker, but I learned a long time ago that a quick google search of the email address and such saves you a lot of trouble with scammers! I was looking at a house for rent locally that the guy had me drive by and check out, said he lives here but was out of town and then told me if I wanted it I had to send him my DL #, SS #, etc. for a background check lmao. Quick search of his name and email address and he lives in Isreal...

You have the 150? I love the look of the 200 Speedster in 08' but can't get past the 4 stroke and no yellow on the 200--both deal breakers for me. I'll probably never part ways with mine, I'll give it to my son if I could ever afford a real ski boat. Post -Lottery winning that is!

Kwik I wish you the best and if you have any questions on how things "should" be let me know. My boat is in bone stock configuration nothing ever modded or added. I want tunes so bad but can't bring myself to cutting it or even drilling a hole in it to mount something--it is maddening!!!!!!! Perhaps a second hand boat I wouldn't mind.

I think I paid $17,779 out the door in 99' I'll try to dig up the receipt. What kills me is the skis these days are not far off that price, that is my problem.

Yeah, 150- yellow, not red :D. I really like the 200 as well, but can't justify both the price. I feel there are MUCH better options out there for that sized boat! I have been eyeing early-mid 90's 22-24' Bajas for my next toy and for the price, they are a hell of a lot more boat than the Seadoos! No offense meant, but when I can get a 24' big block Baja with a small cabin for not much more than I can sell my 08 15' Speedster for, it is a no brainer for me :D. That is why I am looking to get some sort of cheap replacement for my Speedster that I can use the same way- river runs, shallow water, etc. and then buy my impractical big block through hull exhaust monster for deeper water running, maybe runs to the Keys, etc.

Mine was $18,500 new in 08, but I believe they are ~$22k now for the SCIC last I looked!!!

Yup, the price of skis is getting just as out of hand! We can afford new, just can't justify it, that's why I bought the 97 GSI and 99 GSX- cheap and just as fun!

Nice, at least you got the good color combo! Don't forget with big blocks come big pockets, but they do sound damn good smokin' my doors. One time I just about had a heart attack, this cat came out of nowhere and was about 30' off my port side doing about 75 with twin bigs. My Speedster was pasted and he walked me like I was trolling, my kid screamed so loud, we had no idea he was coming. It was cool as all get out with his nice twin rooster tails.

My buddy has a mid 90's Baja with twin 502's either a 28 or 32 footer. That's a lot o' glass to be moving. He put a new 502 in two years ago, another one last year and it never saw the drink this season-- zero hours on a brand new crate motor. New lower unit on one of the drives. After watching him f' with that, I'll stick to my two strokers way cheaper. For those two engines I could pick up ten or twelve 99' Speedsters at $1500. These little boats are great I love running the inland waterways down the shore, nothing beats cranking the wick up and carving through the canals. If I ever move on it will be to a Mastercraft X series, Malibu, Moomba or the like, I love a low slung boat. Something that looks fast just sitting still.

Yeah, I know about the costs involved- it sucks! Gas alone will bankrupt a small country! But- that is why I want to keep a speedster for the majority of use and want something like that for the occasional weekend outings and trips. Something small enough to tow, but big enough to cruise to Boca, the Keys, etc. I'd love to crash out in the cabin and enjoy the water! I was looking to replace the speedster all together with an 18' Larson or Bayliner bow rider (the station wagon of boats lol) because it is a great family boat, but realistically- it can't go as shallow as I can in the speedsters or as far as I can with something bigger, which is where the thought of getting this speedster on the cheap, cashing out on mine and getting my bigger boat also gets appealing.

I also have a guy interested in trading his '77 Pantera 24' with a fresh 502 needing interior work for my 86 turbo 351 Mustang GT. If I go that route, that changes everything as well lol. It is much older than I wanted, but those Pantera's are bad ass boats!

hey guys, finally got my wear ring done, and everything put back together, gonna watertest it in a few days

back to the real business at hand, i briefly read some of what u guys were writing bout military and such, yea he was showing us pics of ied explosions in afghanistan, and he was wearing an afghanistan something shirt, and he showed me his other boat on the canal. seemed like a military guy too, pretty built and shaved head, anyways, the pics turned out pretty terrible, it was from an ipad 2 the camera really sucks

Ugh, bimini top.. Might as well be a mini van lmao. Did you happen to check the condition of the trailer? Hope it will make it back here ok! Also, in the bow shot- what is that black "wall" looking thing?

The black thing is the storage tray that goes under the engine lid. I store my vests in there and my OEM carpet kit. I don't wear a vest while driving but the kids vests are mandatory. I don't know how guys do it with a vest, I like to get a nice tan while on the boat! Those seats are whooped man.

No engine shots Nammer?

Lol, my wife saw it and said "oh cool, it has a bimini top"- I just gave her that "how much more can you drag down my life?" look lol.

i agree.. and who the hell waxes a 96 xp 100 times ?

nam, the ipad camera really really sux.

In 15-17 year time period that's not unlikely. I put sealant on my skis every time I get home from a ride after a washdown. So if I take it out 10 times a year by 10 years.......that's 100 waxes.

i feel terrible, i've owned my ski just about 2 years now... i've waxed it twice, and its made at LEAST 100 trips to the ramp ...

i've cleaned out the inside more often than i've waxed the inside...

now granted, i've cleaned the outside, i just never bother with the waxing part.

What do you think about this one? good deal or no?
http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/boa/3434191869.html

That's near me, but it's high priced.
Tim, (El Toro) remember that skis are priced higher here in Michigan than Florida. but I agree it's still too high. Of course all CL ads are overpriced so when you make an offer then you are about right on target. Offer about $1200-$1300 on that one. He might get $1500 in the Spring.
PS I hate sideway pics.

Damn, you need to spend more time riding and less time waxing :D!

hmm, i thought i attached it, now I remember the thread only lets u attach 5 at a time, you really can't see anything though, it wasn't clean....but it didn't look terrible, and if i remember correctly the big exhaust pipes were different color
