hey guys, i feel like it's been forever since i've been on the comp, and it hasn't even been 2 days yet, no problem at all matt, it was barely any trouble at all

he was actually a 19 y.o. african american fellow, and he lived in a house, but pretty run down, also, it was the boxy gti, so i believe it was pre 96 and not a 97. the ski looked like complete pos.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.
You wonder why people post ad's w/o pictures.

If he is offering $50 to the first fella to cart it off then he might find a taker. That thing is just a carcass of what some buzzard left behind.

i'd say it's somewhat worth it for anybody looking for those side grates, sponsoon, or seat, even oil or gas tank? I'm sure those parts add up real quick if someone were looking for them

this posting caught my attention also, for a 951 drop in/conversion... (I have the parts !)

or

you can even just put a regular 787 and use a rfi pipe, and its not a hard conversion.... (at least by conversion standards, in other words, this is not a 1 weekend project, i'm guessing 40 hours + of work involved)(maybe less,i'm using this number for my project since it involves building a 951 from scratch.)

but... your fuel tank/baffle might not swap, look into that., you'll need the proper electronics (and maybe have to swap gauges ???) you'd also need a 155 pump and the correct driveline, all the misc can turn a cheap project into an expensive one.

but this definitely caught my eye... its the kind of project that I like, there is a nice upside to this project, but if you've never done a major conversion before, expect some setbacks, don't go in blind ! In a perfect world you'd find a GTXL that has a bad hull, and move all that stuff over instead, since with a 787 it will be seriously underpowered, it will look like a RX but It will ride like a GTI with low compression and a bad prop if you don't put a bigger engine in there.

We recently did a GTXL, the electronics were bad but the engine was perfect, so i stole the 951 motor (which we put in my buddies 95xp), and we put 787 electronics, 787 carb'd engine, RFI pipe, and it looked great and ran nice, but it was running in the 46mph range with absolutely no hole shot. (my wife thought it rode awesome (she likes slow ski's) i thought it was like riding an elephant)

Meh, never mind. I forgot how heavy the new skis were. I'll stick with the GSX. It's not that bad, but can use a paint job on the top half. If it were a few weeks ago, I would have been half tempted to put my 215 4 Tec SCIC from the speedster in it lol. I was really close to getting pissed and parting that thing out.

i'm still staring at it :) i'll probably pass, but the idea intrigues me.

Yeah, definitely a tempting one- especially for $250!

however, I can still get a gtx di complete for under $600 with trailer, electronics & motor reduce cost to Zero and do the same thing for less, but it wouldn't be nearly as sexy as a rx, night and day. the good news is that this will probably be for sale a week from now or longer, not many people that know what they're doing want a hull thats been striped of all its goodies, they'd rather wait for the same deal to come up for $300 more that is complete.

hey FL crew, I was wondering is this accurate as far as what is interchangeable with 96 gsx fuel baffle?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sea-Doo-PWC-Fuel-Tank-Sender-Baffle-95-97-XP-SP-SPI-SPX-GSX-GTX-GTS-/330816228615?pt=Personal_Watercraft_Parts&hash=item4d062f0d07&vxp=mtr

if not, could you guys share, or point me in the direction of what is interchangeable for my 96 gsx? thanks

nope doesn't look like it

that'll be later on the xmas list if i ever get around to it, i partially broke a nipple off the ON when i was putting in new fuel lines, I figured I could always run res? also...another question is if the oil filter is on backwards, does that keep oil from going to the pump? I have a pretty good sized oil leak in my running gsx, and noticed my mechanic put the oil filter on backwards, would possibly back the system up? and/or starve the system?
