well, i'm one of those annoying family members that rarely lets family ride my ski ..........And i'll include some reminders like ''please do go out there and do another 8 mile WOT run down the river...., its bad for the ski, ease up on it now and then"

You mean that WOT for full tank of fuel is not good :(.......... LOL..:)

well... we have the opposite problem, I can't get people to go out with me, i tell my friends in gainesville to come down and visit me, we can go out on the skiis. I spend the weekend with my fiance's sisters, thinking we would go out this weekend, I fill them with gas, charge the batteries, "anybody wanta go out?" "it's too cold, I'm so tired, I have so much homework to do" maybe I didn't really need 3 skis :(

i learned the lesson 4 yrs ago, the people that really want to ride all the time will quickly migrate from borrowing into ownership, whittle down to your two favorite ski's, dump the extra, and if ski #2 sits more than it runs, sell that as well and just find a nice group of local's that ride frequently. One advantage I have is that I have Sunday's off and the wife works, so I have schedule flexibility to go out and ride without any "woman conflicts"

This isn't a boat or a ski but I found it in last Friday's Florida's Craigslist.

It was listed for $35 on Friday.

I had my wife call on it (she's in Florida right now) She bought it for $20. No hose and the cord has electrical tape on it, but for the price I couldn't pass it, since I have no "tools" in Florida. It does run & shuts off automatically.
Shoot, it's bigger than the 12Gal & 2-1/2 Hp Craftsman I have in Michigan.

Well this sucks big time.....while searching online for a manual for this beast, I came across a recall notice and mine is listed. these have a tendency to rust from the inside out. (my wife said there is rust on the bottom outside of tank at the valve.) they are offering $100 check or $200 if you buy a new one from them. The one similar they offered was smaller, a 2HP and 30 Gal tank.....my cost after the refund was to be $520.00 or a 2HP &20 Gal was to be about $380.00.....so I took the $100 check and they pay to pick up the old compressor.
Guess I'll but another one in better shape with the extra $80.
Better to be safe than sorry if it explodes on me.

heck pick up about 8 more of those and you can get a nice 2 stage :)

needs a rod and a starter? those don't bring much to begin with, so thats about what a working ski with unknown provenance (deferred maintenance, carbs fuel lines etc.) might bring this time of year, not one that needs a motor AND all that other stuff.

yea you're prob right about the mechanical aspect, but I haven't really seen the affect of this time of year affect ski prices yet. I would think a running 97 xp, usually gets around 1400-1800

Not only too much $$$$, but the guy can't spell either....come on at least get it close. I'm not the greatest speller either but I can spell the correct "great" and "need".

a clean 97 runs 1500 to 2k, they for some reason hold their value better than the 96's for whatever reason. but yes, he's asking twice what its worth in that condition.

no, prices haven't dropped down yet on what people are "asking" but I see the same ads are still up from 30 days ago, so activity has slowed down to a crawl, and it gets worse after Halloweeen when wives tell husbands "no you can't buy a jet ski right before Christmas" activity really doesn't pick up until tax return time.

i'm glad prices haven't dropped, cause if i see a no brainer, my fiance might make me homeless, i haven't really had time to work on my skiis anyway

thanks for joining us sselzer, another local! us floridians should get together sometime like matt suggested

Love to, I never have anyone to ride with. I am located in Hernando Co., but I like to ride off the causeway by Honeymoon Island.

i'm prob still about a lil over an hour from you, but I might go out sunday if you're interested
