I'll call the License place tomorrow and see what my options are if the previous didn't have it registered and if there is no numbers on the trailer,,, I really need it, but didn't want to buy it if it was going to be an issue..

Its not an issue.
Ill tell you where to get certified weight paper and any DMV office should do it.
Like I said I had to do and its no big deal.

Only you know how it circumvented red tape.

You should call now and have him atleast give you till tomorrow to resolve issue.
You can get it all done tomorrow too in your name.

Weigh station is North of Griffin and US 27 at the Sunoco

Some days you just need to read between the lines. Oh, and your current trailer has the same exact bolt pattern for the license plate as the triton if you catch my drift. Hell my buddy doesn't even have a plate on his baja's trailer, says it slows him down. Not even sure he titled it, probably not if I had to guess.

For those who were following on the $650 Triton,,,

I do an unusual job and I just had a coworker send me pics of a gorgeous boat, truck and trailer that was confiscated from a local marina. They were supporting the CG and running all trailer plates. Any trailer that was listed as Homemade and had a VIN or was not clearly Homemade was confiscated. They are giving the owners 14 days to prove it was Homemade. Solo, I'll not be buying that Triton trailer without a registration.

they took the truck and boat too? they should just confiscate the trailer (I understand if the boat stays on it)

Took it all. Everything was super nice, probably $100,000 worth.

Duel wheel Dodge on the tilt bed and boat and trailer being towed by it. So far they confiscated 12 units this morning,,,

Guess it's time to move..the law around here could care less about it haha!

Each state is different... I lived in Ohio for years. Trailers are titled there. They make it a REAL challenge to title something that has issues. Takes months sometimes. Has to go through an inspection from a Sherif and get weighed. They also contact the last titled owned to get them the chance to take it back,,

Well don't you live in Florida..I'm in the panhandle area..same laws and we don't have a problem up here..I just hate to see you loose a super nice trailer like that..super cheap too

Yes,, Florida now.

After seeing those trailers, boats and trucks get confiscated, not worth the risk to me.. With my Lexus and skis alone I'm looking at $70,000. Not with the loss over a $650 trailer,,,

I'm sure they will get the trucks and bots/skis back, but it will come with hassles, time, and fines...

Yeah that's a scary story. I don't want people up in my business, especially people with the authority to take my stuff :puke:

Due to my job, this type of issue is simply something I can't risk,,, I have a good job that pays well, I would lose it for sure of something as stupid as a $600 trailer,,,

Nope,,, not interested. At least not until I retire.. LOL

My double still isn't properly registered.

And it is likely you will NEVER have an issue...

In my case, didn't want to start with something I MAY have an issue with. Biggest reason is my job. If this became an issue there would be carry-over to my job. It would cause me serious issues..

I totally understand. There are no numbers anywhere on mine it's an older galvanized magic tilt. I have to take it to the sheriff's dept for inspection and rivet a homemade trailer vin tag on it. Some of the old ones the numbers are just gone the manufacturer should use metal plates instead of stickers.
