pass the word, have a buddy that wants an XPL, something that needs love in the 1K to 1500 range, near bradenton or 150ish miles from there.1998-2002 XP is basically what he's looking for....

97 XP or does he want the XPL only. Try searchtempest.com. That will scan all craigslist from your zip to the specified distance.

I just did a test run and just limited my search to a distance relative to what CL will bring up for my area. Tempest actually finds more for me, or at least it seems like it does the way they break it down. I'll flip flop on it. I mostly use it if I'm looking for something specific and can't find it in my area, I'll expand and ask if they would be willing to ship.

yes, tempest is great, i've used it, and he's only looking for xpl, since the 97 IMO and most others, is underpowered with the 787 engine.
Cool, I never rode an XPL, just a 97 XP--and I didn't like it compared to the X4's. I do like me some HX though!

Late last night a guy posted a 96XP and a 96GSX on a double trailer for $800!!! I'm pacing while I wait for the bank to open at 9:00. I hope nobody beats me to it, it's only 30 minutes away. There were no pics but he said they ran last year(sure they did). He claims that the motors are good but something electrical happened to them. Of coarse he doesn't have a clue. Anyway, wish me luck:coolgleam:

They both do have clear FL titles. There is evidence of some previous pride as well. Both have splash guards, the XP has extended trim tabs, ole Jet trim hump touring seat, and replaced graphics and accel pump carbs. It has a rev limiter but with a stock pipe(?). The GSX has R&D sponsons and a K&N flame arrestor and Hydro-Turf. The mold and leaves were free.
He would not take less than $800 so I paid the man. The trailer is not galvanized and starting to show it but it is light and tows well. My Doo count is out of control and boy am I broke.

I have an ad posted and of course within two hours of posting the listing I received excited inquiries of people that want to buy it right away...
I reply with answers and of course, I get this.. twice from two different emails...
Ok, Thanks for the swift response, just to let you know that am okay
with the price ,can you send me some pics of it, if possible what is
the present condition of it? why are you selling it? are you the
owner?please be honest about it because i am purchasing it for my
personal use.I would have really love to come for the viewing but due
to my work frame that would not be possible. i am a naval officer
presently working at sea with HMAS Albany ,ACPB 86 Patrol boat at the
moment and I do not have access to a phone here i should have call you
to discus about the sales on phone. I'll be responsible for the
pick-up ,so i will need the pick up address so that i can forward it
to my pick agent up for them to schedule an appropriate time for the
pick-up at your location after you had receive funds and i can only
pay through paypal for now as i have no access to my bank account
online but i have it linked to my paypal so you can leave your paypal
email for me to transfer the payment asap....Regards

I also have too many, and I still looked at one last night, nice lady wouldn't take my lowball, so I sent her to a good mechanic to try and get it running so she could sell it for retail. (the poor soul fell for the "just needs a battery and a starter" and paid $1300ish for a non running ski)
moving on...
i got a lead about noon regarding two yami XL700's parked in the back of a building that haven't moved in 3 yrs, so I drove by, they looked like hell, flat tires, seats eaten away, etc, but the business was closed for the weekend already so I left my card on the door. I was looking at them thru a fence 20 feet away and I can already tell you that I wouldn't offer more than $200 for the pair.
