Be careful on that post, looks like a shear point to me. Gussets would have been a good idea. But those seats look great, just keep an eye on it.

Tons of parts waiting to go in the boat still!

Installed my sound system last night. I went with a kenwood head unit, 4 kenwood 6.5 speakers and a 10" sub and amp.

I also detailed a small test spot to see how it would come back and I gotta say I'm impressed. With the steps I used, it came back to near new condition.

Got to recovering the rear back rests last night and they came out near perfect. Im just trying to decide if i want to leave the two outsides blank or put a seadoo stencil on them like they were from the factory

The upholstery looks great! which kit did you buy? I still need to do the upholstery on my boat.

My original seat covers have a small Sea-Doo logo in the middle of the seats maybe 1" high by 7" wide. Actually your letter size looks correct just without the yellow frame around the letters.

I tried to order it from Keith at seadooupholstery.com but I never got a email or call back on it so I went with ZZ-Auto thats on eBay. The covers are very nice material but you have to modify some things to make them perfect.

I have stencils that are a replicas of the original seadoo logos and the special paint so ill mess with it over the weekend. The decal you see in the photo gets paint applied then the decal is removed leaving just the letters.

I understand now its just the stencil. Did you have to buy the captain seat covers when you bought the kit? I was going to buy the same seats you bought but the mounting issues caused me to change my mind and restore my existing captain seats.

No I didn't buy captain covers. I researched it and found they don't come out too great

Pull the trigger on the new ones mounting is easy and if you ship your brackets i can make the mounts I did for mine

Looks great. Were the gauge surround and glove box lid originally textured black or a smooth finish?

The gauge surrounding was a smooth surface and the glove box was covered in marine vinyl. Once the vinyl was removed it was smooth.

All pieces were originally maroon

On what?

If your referring to the gauge surrounding, glove box, steering wheel center and side grab rails I used PPG automotive paint. I shot everything with bulldog adhesion promotor then shot a base and clear

random not necessarily related post to the resto. These motors have the accel pumps on the carbs, correct? I know I converted my XP to a primer as it starts worlds faster after sitting for a long time, compared to a choke. Does the accel pump help with these? I noticed you chose to keep the choke cables.....just curious. Also haven't noticed any boat convert to using a primer.....that I've seen.

Nick,
Here is my dash. I added Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) gauges and moved my gas gauge to the lower left. I also replaced the cigarette lighter with a volt meter. I don’t like the starter buttons, someone on the forum did a nice job replacing them with lighted flush buttons – on my “to do list”.

In my opinion the boat doesn't start any faster with the pumps. I still have to tap the choke to fire it up. I thought about doing a primer kit on each motor but it would be a pain to run all the lines to the front

I did it on my boat years ago but didn't like it very much.

I've been contemplating a boat resto ever since my xp completion. My plan was to run dual primers when that day came, but never see it on boats.
