she's a beauty. keep up the great work. hope mines there soon to upgrade
Break in went perfect yesterday! Ran really smooth and now i just need to make a couple minor carb adjustments.

Replaced the bunks before loading her back up

Cleaned it all up when I got home so here is the finished product so far. I am waiting on decals and it will be 10% done!

who would you recommend for a new Bimini top for a 98 challenger or should I get one from the same maker as my wakeboard tower?

Looks amazing!!! Great job.
It has been fun watching you rebuild her.
I just looked back at the first picture you took. Totally different boat! I love that you didn't skimp on any of the parts or work needed. Real deal restore!!!

How is the kenwood audio system working out? I was set on 2 sets of JL 6.5s and a JL 10" sub, but kind of shying away from the crazy cost.

I have the kenwoods and it sounds good. I didn't do the sub though. I found a digital receiver (doesn't play cd) and it is waterproof and it's awesome. Amazon was perfect

Wow thank you everyone so much for the compliments on my work its much appreciated

Here is what I ordered as far as the audio system. It sounds incredible in my opinion. Being I have spent about 6k on this boat, I wasn't about to go spend another grand on the audio. This system will give you the vocals you want along with the deep bass. It doesn't get broken up when turned up loud and the bluetooth music streaming is perfect quality.

As far as the bimini top goes, I would go with whatever will fit your tower

I was having a bit of a issue with my bottom end power/ take off so I removed the carbs, stripped them and ultrasonic cleaned them for days in 75% pinesol and 25% water. They turned out brand spankin new and will be getting all new jets, needles, seats and a carb kits. Before anyone freaks, all parts are genuine Mikuni from osdparts! I also ordered brand new OEM fuel pumps. This is something I should have done from the beginning instead of just checking them and cleaning the internal filters. Im positive the issue was my accelerator pumps not working as well as the should have been so the system was thoroughly cleaned, new lines and new pump diaphragm's. I also checked the pop off which is hitting at about 38psi which is spot on according to the manual.

Damn, those did come clean! I ended up ordering the mikuni high flow pumps since they can be rebuilt and were half the cost, but it is a pain to have to make new mounting brackets.

I put the high flows in my boat, night and day difference. Starts much easier after sitting for a week or so.

Did you block off one of the 1/4 outlets of the high flow pump and just run one to both carbs or get a Y or T from the two 1/4 outlets into a single 5/16?

I ordered dual 1/4 to single 5/16 Y's, but they are coming from China so who knows when they'll get here.

On the mag carb I blocked off the fitting that feeds the pto carb. So the dual outlet high flow pump is feeding each carb independently.

Looking great! I believe the issue with your accelerator pumps will be partly due to the missing check valves. I’m using a set of aftermarket check valves.
If you find a source for the OEM check valves I would be interested in getting a couple.

After looking at a factory parts explosion, these don't have check valves. The only have the jet on the fuel inlet side

Finished the boat this weekend!!! Graphics were done by Mike at pwcgraphics.com and I couldn't be happier with them. Carbs are all together and on with great throttle response. The water test today after work will be the true test though.

Well after a short ride, I lost the top end of my starboard side motor. I have investigated the heck out of it and I have no clue what happen. All fuel lines are tight, fuel filters are clean and fuel is moving freely, no leaks on the base gaskets of the carbs and the list goes on. If you look at the piston wash its dead nuts! Not too lean and not to rich

MAG Piston

PTO Piston

Good new is I have a pro x top end from full bore ready to go so the boat is going back together tonight.

Nick,

I'm so sorry, nobody feels your pain like me.:(

Please keep us up to date as you figure out the reason.
I know too well that if you do not figure out the cause, it will take out the new top end as well.

A failed water regulator caused the exhaust to collapse and it took a gulp of water.
