Thanks guys, got the sponsons on last night , i still need to take some pics. I have some little parts still to paint/clean but its starting to come together. Has anyone ever made the sponsons out of aluminum and buffed them up really nice?

I do have another question, right now I have a R&D cable drop nozzle. Is the hydraulic drop nozzle a lot better than the cable? If so whats one of them go for?

thanks
Scott

The cable version takes more pressure to pull. The r&d version are between 200 and 250. A baker version is 325 and up.

How much more travel do you Gane from a baker trim drop from a cable drop. Having 2nd thoughts....I don't really want to take my handlebars apart again...

Got the sponsons on it today at lunch time.

Well I had an idea when I was looking at docs x4 951. I only had $40 in the sponsons but took a good 6hrs. I thought since I didn't make a backing plate I might as well take the time and make them now. I can also put my black beach house sponsons that i made on my base plate to if I don't want to run the aluminum ones or if I did race it and people didn't like it.

Do you guys think I should put a lock washer on my 3 bolts holding the sponsons on? ( I put lockouts on the inside with backing plate.

Nyloc nuts for the plate bolts. I just used large fender washers not a plate but to each his own.

I was thinking about it but I don't mind getting wet but I may change my mind.. ..I need to ride a ski with one on it
Yah I don't mind either when it's warm but I'll be breaking in this engine in early may to have it ready for the meet up. I don't really want to have 50 degree water constantly spraying me, lol.
