I've done 2 hoods. I had the oem paint matched and then I used the farm equipment yellow. The rust oleum was actually closer, almost dead on color.

Well I'll give an update. I couldn't find the paint in dupont. Ppg owns the rights to seadoo paint codes. So what I did is my nabor owns a body shop and he has a gun that will give you the paint code. 1 is a perdect match and this code came in at .9 .

Then I used white tarps, they work the best.

Just got the hood done. I have another hood that I'm going to paint black and see what looks best. It did turn out good though.

Well all painting is done, now just need to finish buffing. I hope to have that done by the weekend so I can start putting this thing together.

Got a question:

I have two umi set ups, both x4 but they look a little different.

Depends on preference one is angled more forward than the other I think one has more rise too

thanks man, also does anyone know on a single gauge hood, around the gauge shouldnt there be a rubber insert?
 
ill take a pick of it when i go home for lunch, I know i cant weld steel to aluminum lol, thats why i have to take it to the weld shop, i dont have an aluminum welder, only have a steel welder, but you got me thinking now i better make sure that one part is aluminum...
