it does appear that way... 15 year old shaft, bound to happen sometime.
At least you know it was nothing you did. Probably happened years ago when one of the PO sucked something in and stressed cracked it. The only way to find this would be to perform a NDI on the shaft. I wonder if your other one has the same issue? J/k :)

And then it will be a solid boat? Jeez man, seems like you have replaced / re replaced and or rebuilt everything mechanical. I've been out for four good day runs and almost feel in the back of my mind that something is getting ready to let loose... Then the sad tow in as I only have one power plant... I feel for ya bro, really do.

I like the areas you ride in, I can't say that we have cool rivers like that around here. Lots of man made lakes though. Hope your next run is awesome...!

just to note:
the black line on the delrin wear ring is an index mark I made to see if these wear rings spin in the housing. Happy to say, they do not and remain in the same position as when installed...
Hey andy, I knew if i waited long enough i would get my answer!! i to have Delrin wear rings and knew you had marked them. we talked earlier this summer about how easy they slide into the pumps. yesterday, while winterizing the boat i pulled the pumps off to clean the driveshaft splines and put fresh grease on them, then put new neoprene seals and step-torqued the pumps back on.

Andy, the spec torque for my 1999 is 21 lbsft with lock washers and no mention of loctite in the shop manual, could this be a variance between the '99 and a '98 models??? kind of like the 'right stuff vs. neoprene seal' difference seen in some shop manuals.

just took this pic while idling around New Bern, then the clean up shot in the driveway... ain`t she purdy!:D

that`s all for now...:facepalm::lols:[/QUOTE]

OMG Andy you haven't lived in the south more that a couple of months and already you are sounding like a Southerner. "Ain't she Purdy." Lord help us!!! :facepalm::lols:

Kidding!

My wife is from Long Island, but she has lived in the south for so long that She sounds like a native.

Boat looks really great!! You have done a really nice job on the finish.

Andy,

The difference is the pumps.

I think your pumps are small hub pumps, the 99's had the larger hub pumps. You can see the difference in the below pic.

I checked the part numbers for the pumps and the rear cone, different for both years, this is just an assumption since the numbers didn't line up right.
