These decals are like putting up wallpaper in your house. It's 2016 time to modernize

hahaha classic. I have a 97 SPX that is mint and I hate the color scheme on it but I cant destroy a mint ski like that. Will most likely end up being sold to fund a project I can beat up on

Yah I'm not gonna bash him I'm happy with the work on the 787. Just don't don't like having to call each week to get a new date. If there is an issue just tell me a realistic date and then either meet the date or call if something will further delay it and I'd be happy. I just didn't expect it to take this long. Now into month 5...

Oh he used to give a "if you don't get your engine by this guaranteed date, you would get it for free" promotion. Guessing that had to be given up. Lol.

I feel like there isn't anything that could hold it up. Maybe his parts dist is out of a certain size piston well either resleeve or go up to what is available. Work should be done in order received

I called and asked for a price and I told him I would think on it. He called the next two days and asked if I wanted to go with it and I told him I might do it my self and he was like I'll have it done in 5 weeks lol

He called me for 3 weeks straight when I called him one winter asking about a rebuild. Each call the price got cheaper and cheaper. I'm not going to get started on my thoughts about tom and ses (hack cough cough) haha jk

Ok I just got my fuel pump today and it has a 5/16 inlet and 1/4 outlets. Do I need to run 5/16 or can I get by with narrowing to 1/4 since I'm only running Novi 44s?

I only ordered the transparent blue fuel line from www.fuel-line.com in 1/4, so would need to order the 5/16. Not a big issue but I'm more concerned about the fuel baffle since it's 1/4 only.

If i need a 5/16 baffle, can I just cut down an XPL baffle since I have a few extras?

You want a 98SPX or 99spx baffle they are 5/16. Or extend the pickup for the on side and run the 2 1/4 " lines into a 5/16" line

Sweet, thanks guys!

Is there any requirement on fuel pump positioning to in relation to the carbs? Same height, high low, max distance etc?

I did also order a jet kit from OSD. Decent deal, you buy their $8 organizer and pick 10-18 jets and they give you 40% off of them.

Keep the impulse line as short as you can and don't use that soft, thin walled hose for impulse. Mount the pump independent from the engine cause the vibration can mess with it (so the racers say I have not found that to be the case but I usually stay under 7300rpm and some racers push 8K). Other then that it's up to you. It will do it's thing mounted in any direction.

Thanks as always Matt!

This fuel line actually has a much thicker wall than any other transparent I've seen. I'll still use the blue reinforced I got from McMaster carr for the pulse though.

Wedding yesterday and too hungover today to get much done, lol.

After snowing sideways yesterday it was 55 and sunny today so the SPX got a bath and new mats installed.

Really digging the new mats though!

What kind of mats are those? Blacktip without a logo or joint in the footwell?

Yes, the blacktip elite mats are not 2 piece in the footwell like the regular ones. They did cut the spot for the logo but left the mat material there in case you don't want a logo. Really like them but don't think I'd pay full price. Definitely worth it for blackfriday prices.

Is that a genuine yellow hood?

Yes, genuine mint 95 XP800 hood.
