1994 xp parting out.... vts on the side ?

So my new to me doo has the VTS motor and gauge on the side where you typically see the fuel selector switch. Is this normal. Im new to this whole seadoo thing so maybe this is nothing unusual.

Also I hooked up a battery to the ski and tuned it over several times. I verified that the plugs were firing normally. Does this mean that the mpem is operating correctly or is there another check.

Ski came with a 657 and some formula pump ....

anyways curious if there is something special here as im parting it out. If you need anything let me know

Looks like your getting a crash course.

That year has a non dess kill switch with no 2 beeps. So if it starting and you have 150 compression your good.
Go through fuel system before riding if ski has grey fuel lines.

If you had pump off to see it had the bronze veins and wearing ring and bearing are good just add new GL-5 gear oil and your done.

That year has a manual VTS and normal. Don't have one but they work same as button but hand has to come off handle bars to adjust.

No its definitely not starting as it burnt a piston. I bought it cheap for the trailer and am going to part out the ski to hopefully pay for the trailer. I just want to sell the mpem as good or unknown. I powered everything up and checked a plug to see if it had spark as the motor turned over and it did. So I assume this means the mpem is good ?????? I just dont want to advertise something as good when it is not.

As for the vts it is not manual. There is a weird gauge on the side and the typical buttons on the handle bars. So its not manual but just different from the ones which had the vts box in the rear....

Yes thats exactly what it does.. I was just curious if it was odd as I have not seen this setup before.

This is stock, have the same Doo with the same setup, its original and its electronic with the up/down button on the handlebars
