    i could be wrong but the way i understood it was that honeing a cylinder helps seat the new rings. just be sure to measure the cylinders to make sure they are still in spec also make sure you have the right ring gap

    i would also try wet sanding. a d/a air powered sander with a wet sponge can save you a lot of work, just be warned it will spray everywhere

    thats a sure sign of the engine ingesting water. you might as well save you time and not worrying about pulling the starter. I'm going to say you friend sank the ski or towed it without clamping the cooling hose.

    even if u could get the engine to break free from the oil it would not last long. pull the starter next and see if its a bendix issue. if that will not free the engine up and you have already pulled the pump off the next step would be to pull the engine. yes you could pull the top end off while...

    you can get it in by removing the front e-box and sliding it in from the front storage compartment, tight fit but it works.

    they do make gasket holder that is made just to hold gaskets in place for assembly, comes in a brush can. i use it all the time for those carb gaskets that love to slide under the engine when installing carbs.

    it could have been saved if he was smart enough to change his fluid right away. i know on my silverado it vents right by my gas tank fill tube. one of the first things i checked before backing a ski in and not a bad idea to check ever year for cracks.

    thank you for clearing that up, i knew that more keys could be programed to a mpem. I wasn't sure if there was a way to turn the dess system off so that i could use anyones key on my ski or buy a new key without programing it. i also agree that the d.e.s.s. system is a pain, my skis never leave...
