Anyone interested in a single gauge hood? It's in good shape, but needs to be painted since the previous owner painted it two ugly colours of blue. I'm undecided if i want it as a project right now, so just throwing this out there.

I been stuck on reading this thread for hours.. I been a x4 fan since 93 when my uncle first bought the Xp.. I now have a 95 Xp for the past 5 years with no issues.. Knock on wood.. I'm either looking to have work done to mine or buy a 787 Xp and keep the 717 stock.. Or buy one done up already.. I'm just having trouble finding something that quailty n clean.. Anybody have anything nice for sale or know of a performance shop somewear around ny? I'm willing to drive a few hours if it's worth it. I love thread and what everyone has to say.. I see some real nice machines you people are posting :.

What's the price?

with my x4 I could do a TRUE 360.... Also I was so go at whippin that thang I could do a one handed 360, Took a few dumps but people on the 16 foot ski's couldnt even turn there over weights 180. The trick was as you hit the turn to lift the jet out and let that baby spin!

Than when you get back to the dock you get about 4 offers to sell it.. :) than you tell them Sorry!

Prices have topped out here too. I don't think you'll find any bargains until the end of the season.

60mph is about the best I've ever done, and that's on the lie-o-meter, flat water, wind at your back.

Lou

unfortuately Tim....thats the goodstuff out of that boat. We hit a few other boats but the camera didnt turn on. Those damn gopros...they should make a switch instead of a button so you know they are on by feel.

Dude I hear ya. I thought I had mine on while I was riding back to the boat ramp. I rounded the point right in front of the party cove on the lake I was on and here came a big cabin cruiser plowing the water. I hammered it towards his wake and got the biggest air i've ever got on a ski. It wasn't pretty because I hit the wake at a weird angle and the ski kicked sideways in the air throwing my right foot out of the foot well. When I landed I ate the bars with my chin and banged my knee on the hull pretty bad, but I stayed on and didn't wipe out right in front of party cove :lols: Anyways I got back to the ramp only to find the gopro was off :cuss: Anyways I see the need for the hydro turf lift wedges and some sort of foot wear now.

What kind of footwear do you guys wear?

I used to wear water shoes but never found a pair that gave me a really solid grip on the turf... so...
i generally go barefoot with a pair of flops shoved into the storage bin, and ya, we've all ate the bar's at one point or another when hitting a big wave, and i've limped from the ramp to my car more than once with an ankle or knee hurting like hell, fortunately i've never hurt anything serious, but i've missed a weekend before due to bumps and bruises, and some serious calf rashes. I always worry about really big air since I have a bad rotator cuff, and i've known guys to pop shoulders and that hurts like hell (popped mine a couple of times but never when riding).
any answers for the calf rashes ? my daughter and I both get them when we ride on 4' + seas and besides wearing some kind of protection on my calf itself (and the weird tan i'd get from it), I can't seem to get away from it.
I'm also in the process of installing some footwell wedges for the ankles, had a friend order a set of b stock turf so I finally was able to cut a couple of pieces :)

Have any of you guys ran a 2inch rise jet trim seat with stock bars. I was just wondering how the fit and clearance was. Thinking about picking one up.

I had to add to my X4 hoarding problem. A friend I get parts from was offered this and passed it on to me. He said over the phone "do you want a 95XP Limited that needs a top end for$600?) I thought yeah, I kinda do. I pictured a thread about copying Lou cause I would only be a "Buick" away. Then he sends me a pic of this. Sure looks like a 96 too me. I love the yellow single gauge hood but no pink gelcoat. I hope it has the pump extension cause I told him to bring it on. He's coming with it tonight!

looks like a 96 to me as well, and $600 is a fair price for a 787 regardless of year, your not stealing it but your not getting ripped off, assuming the bottom end is good (no guarantee on that, but even if its just an outer bearing or something its still doable). the hood can be painted black pretty easily to help clean the looks up as well, i very much prefer the mirror-less hood's looks over the mirror hood. If it has no mods at all on engine or pump, i'd price it at $500, but $600 is still fair.

Black? I love that hood the way it is. I guess I'm tired of black from my other one. We will see what shows up tonight as far as condition. I hope there are some goodies there to get excited about because I really don't need a fair deal on an X4 right now(I need to sell 4!) The price might be better, I haven't heard the full skinny. I want one to test my APE and Rossier pipes out with. And at least it's not faded and salted like most I get. The guy is bringing me the thing from Montgomery and has a 96 XP himself among other skis. I'm sure we will work something out that works for everybody.
