Hopefully you'll get lucky and it will have an X engine. My engine tag is gone so I can't tell. I guess the best i can do is pull the head and see what pistons are there. Even if the right pitons it could have been rebuilt with .25 oem at some point.

It does look like there is a yellow cover under the jettrim cover on my hump seat though. I just hope its in good condition.

Give the hin to your dealer, they can look up what it came with. They can't give you the engine sn, but they can tell you if it had oversize pistons. I've never done this but the guys at my dealer said they could. I have a few hulls with no engines and wanted to know if any were X engines.

Thanks ill try that. Can i tell by the engine serial # in the MPEM? Assuming it hasnt been changed.

I'm doing an impeller swap soon on my X4, I just need to order a wear ring and neo seal now.

I read somewhere the Delrin wear rings are better than OEM in some ways but the general concensus is that OEM is the only way to go when replacing the wear ring.

Anyone ever use the Delrin ones or should I stick to OEM?

I have used both, haven't noticed a difference between them. Some of the delrin models have a groove in the edge of one side,I usually get these as I feel they give a better sealing surface as compared to the cheapie units.

I am an OEM guy on carb kits, starters, and rectifiers. But wear rings I buy cheap.

The white ones are simple but tough. It looks like the one SBT sells in a kit with the neoprene seal for less money.

You can't beat oem though. The performance is the best and they are made of different materials on purpose. If you suck up a rock or a stick the OEM ring will try to give a little before it bends an impeller blade.

Hey guys I have to replace my fly wheel and was just wondering if there is any way possible I could do that without pulling the engine?

Yes it can be done. Pull the section of pipe between the chamber and the manifold and remove the front mount. You can put a wood block under the engine to face the front upwards.

You better get a build thread going Mr. Project Grabowski?

Oh, no doubt. It might just last longer than your typical 787

No it's bored and ported for power. It was built to win races, not for reliability. It can be reliable as anything else with conservative settings and a steady supply of good race fuel but people bought (or ordered) them to pass the guy next to them originally.

Has anyone ever tried the Sport Port? I bought these magnets that go on the inside of the Jugs and outline where to port. I've been too busy trying to just keep my stock ski running, and haven't tried them yet. I do have all the tools though. Curious if anyone has ever touched that dark art of porting...
