The crank seals will be fine if the correct oil from the dealership is sitting on them. They will need carbs rebuilt and grey fuel lines swapped though.

i just sent greenwald a text to see if he remembers this boat......i dont have chris's number in my phone, but Rob should have it. See what info I can dig up for you :))

Robs at the races this weekend, so it may take a little bit for him to get back to me. He's only doing a couple rounds of the tour this year.

I should be at the races also. I'll go tomorrow and check it out.

Thanks for looking into it. Here is a pic of me on the line a few years ago with Rob to the right of me. My X4 had been painted silver since Rob owned it so I yelled over at him "hey this is your old ski" and he said "my old skis are like my old girlfriends... you don't want them when I'm done with them. lol

Whats up JUNKIES!!! Sorry i've been out of the X4 loop for a bit. Got a 08 P-X so i've been on the hulk a bunch. I know! I know! TRADER!!!! Anyways I picked up a fresh steaming turd pile of a 96 XP. Been sitting outside a bit so its crusty, butttttttt It has a UMI, Rossier Pipe, Buckshot Head, Buckshot Carbs, and apparently is making around 160 psi. I haven't checked it yet, but that is what I was told by the owner. He also said it would hit on starting fluid so i'm assuming its fuel delivery is why its not running. Anyways I've got a question on the fuel line routing for the carbs. Its a pair of buckshots without a fuel rail and it has a external fuel pump. From just glancing at it the only thing alarming is both carbs have fuel pumps on them and there isn't a cap on the nipple where the pulse line would normally go. Just wondering if anybody has a diagram or feedback on this setup. I believe this ski was raced at one time. I can see below the rub rail where it once had sticker that said "Over Budget Racing" and a outline of a IJSBA sticker. Sound familiar? Here's some pics.

The fuel comes in the lower fittings on each carb and then returns through the higher fittings. I like the dual pumps. You do not need two impulse fittings on the case you can T them together and feed them with one fitting just keep the hose as short as possible. 90 degree fittings and old impulse hoses with curves molded in them help.

Great Find! I'm always seeking skis like that. Looks like your missing the sponson blades? If so I have some when your ready.

Thanks for the reply Matt. Yes I'm missing the sponson blades. I was bummed but I can't complain for the price I paid. I see what you are saying by t'ing the pulse line. This ski has a external fuel pump though. I was thinking just cap the plus nipple on each carb or get block off plates. Thoughts? It popped on starting fluid tonight. Ha 170 psi in each hole. I bought it to part but it looks like she's a runner once the fuel system is sorted out.

It should not have and does not need the external fuel pump. If you want to run it then cap off the pump side of the carb with plates like the stock pto carbs have.

Okay ill probably try to t the pulse line then. I'll need to y the fuel delivery line and run one to each carb right since each carb has its own pump?

I dug into the Buckshots on the XP I nabbed last week. They were funky inside. The filters were 1/2 clogged in both. Its a wonder the motor isn't blown up!

Do you guys know if Racepak makes anything similar to the old Hot Tach's for EGT anymore? I looked on there site and everything I found wouldn't be optimal for watercraft use.

I saw those. Looks pretty slick. The reason I asked about Racepak is I have a in with the parent company that owns them. I could probably get a deal on one.

That's a bummer. Oh well. Let me run this by you. I wrote the jetting down last night. Mind you I was half asleep. I reviewed it today and was like huh?!? That doesn't sound right.
100 HS Jet
135 LS Jet
2.5 N&S

Idk I'll look again this afternoon. Maybe the low speed is a 85. That doesn't sound like enough fuel between the two jets though. I might need glasses lol

Okay sounds good. I guess what had me thrown off is usually the low speed jet is smaller than the high speed. At least that's what I thought anyways. I understand both jets dictate WOT fueling though.

Anyone know what size the cylinder orings are? part # 290931410 I forgot I took them from the rebuild kit last fall and now I need them asap to finish my SPX build for the meet.
