I got penalized for jumping the start, and the xpl didnt hit me... just a near miss, i lost the nose piece cause i hit a buoy. its an xpl cause is a 1000 cc open class... but the good old 787 x4 keeps up very well agains those hyperbolic hulls, but they are a lot better in those weather conditions

Is that a kawi 1100 ski?? Good race, looks like the penalized start killed you
 
Just added another one to the stable. 96xp with lots of aftermarket+extras.

Has rossier pipe, ocean pro fa's, primer, timing advance, umi steering, oddyssey sponsons, jd intake grate, skat swirl unknown pitch, drop trim, extended trim tabs, carbon fiber hood (albeit cracked up), 4 inch rise seat, spare mpem+key

All for $1050 ;)

Nice skis, I thought maybe you had a motor swap done based on your start/stop switch

yeah is a kawi start stop button with the kill switch, the mpem gave me a lot of problems so when i put the msd enhancer i took out all the mpem system. Works a lot better

Mr. White that was an awesome video. It's hard to beat a XPL in chop especially with a smaller engine. I'm impressed with how you kept it pinned every chance you could and gave it all you had, super job man. It's also an example of the benefit of our X4 skis because you were out turning them by a lot. They were leaning in to more round turns and you were able to spin right around tight to the buoys when you didn't have to jump their wakes. Please keep us posted on your season.

I see your Hottach tripping the preset limit. I couldn't tell what it's set at but if it's going over 1100 I'd open those high speed needles up just a hair.

rj2 great pickup on that new ski. It looks like a first class build. Show us more pics please.

Anyone know if the rise seats have the foam attached to thw cover or is it attached to old seat? I want to recover this seat with rise but not sure if i can just order a new cover or would need to order cover + riser foam?
 
I would assume they would sell you a cover, but on their site they state something about riser seats must be installed there. I assume that's for new ones. Your best bet is to call.
 
Yes they glue the foam to the top of your stock seat foam. They will send you a replacement cover. They make the risers in 2", 3" or 4".

Thanks Matt, i really apreciate your comment, it was really hard cause of the chop... but i give it all when im on the ski, i know i have to learn a lot, but well.. you know... its just time and experience. The hot tach is showing Over Rev cause it s not wired correctly, and talking about EGT, its barely touching 1100°F but we saw the spark plugs and they look good, the Egt probes are a bit old and we dont trust them 100%... and the engine builder told me before the Race, just dont look at the race pack, if you break it i´ll rebuild it without charge... :cool:

Sounds like your right where you want to be with the tuning then. Yeah the video was exhilarating. Please post it in the video section on this site when you get a chance so it lives on and doesn't get buried in this thread.
 
Random, kinda X4 related question...

Has anyone ever put a Yamaha 1200 motor in an X4?

(This is not to debate the why, how, or piss off the die hards. Just curious here)

I scored another cool race ski yesterday. I've been working on the deal for a couple months and he came down for the Panama City races so he brought it to me. This cat raced from 97 to 08 and still goes out to Havasu every year for the World Finals. He looked me fleet over and told me who originally rode every one of my old racers so that was cool. The only bad part was that he knew what everything was and what it was worth lol.

This is a Pop's Fischetti built boat. It was raced by Greenswald and I know he and Chris "Fish" are good friends. I had the other one Greenswald X4 Pop's built. I got the engine and a couple other cool parts in it (Westcoast exhaust outlet, Baker trim, water outlets, and altered waterbox). The boat was sponsored by Hooters and ran the whole National Tour.





The Superstock engine has been ported out all over. It's not the precision work I've seen from Bo Dupriest, Jerry Watossee or Mel Miller but I be t it screams. It has the Miller 951 style RAVES.



Now here is the thing..... I don't know if this is a ski that POP's built Greenswald(known as "Greenballs" on tour haha) or if it's an original Chris Fischetti X4 from 96 or 97. If it is I would totally restore it. It's a 96XP because I see a yellow gel on both top and bottom through the paint history.



I'm kinda excited because you can see the white paint first before the Hooters orange. To me Fish's black and white X4's of that area were are the holy grail of "period" X4 racing. Check out this if you have a minute, it's one of the most exciting motos ever. The other moment is when the X4 and the Kawi are rail to rail both WOT!
