wow what a bunch of $%#&@ in here, i will be sure to post some pics of my yellow hump seat before i put new cover on, but i will be sure to spray paint it before it gets the jet trim.

next time if you want the cover that bad, at least offer the guy a price he can replace it with, like give him a jet trim cover, he gives you a stock cover.

supply/demand usually means the things with more supply and less demand (jettrim) will be cheaper, things with lower supply and more demand (stock cover) will be more expensive

so don't kick him in the nuts offering $25 and then gang up on him after the fact. he saved over $100, should pat him on the back not kick him in the nuts
Well said. I don't mind people disagreeing with what I did at all. But there's no need to be a ^&%$ about it. Then again, there's really only one guy who is.

Just edited many of the posts within this thread. Not a huge deal, but lets keep this friendly. There are other sites that the language runs rampart. I (we) try to limit it here.

Lets keep this civil please...

It's not mine, I don't have to deal with burnt balls or shitty pealing paint. It's your seat to do as you want. We do get worked up seeing crap like this because us guys that actually restore oem skis search high and low for oem parts like said seat. These parts are getting harder and harder to find and we like to see them kept original. When these are gone they are gone, there will be no more. To see it painted is like a dagger to the heart. You have to understand our frustration on the issue.

I guess you missed the part where I said I've had a black seat cover for years, and it's never once gotten too hot? And what about the guys who've ran SEM paint on their boat seats for years with no peeling or fading?

Look, like I said, I don't care if you agree with me. But it's too bad you have to be such a * about it. If it's THAT important to you, you had every opportunity to make me a fair offer on the cover. You talk as if these covers are so important to you, but your actions did not follow that. You could have put your money where your mouth is, but you did not. Therefore, it's my cover to do with what I please.

Now I'm thinking of starting a business of finding hump seats, painting them, and selling them for profit. So, if you see some for sale around here, you better make a good offer on them instead of just talking a big game. When people ask how I came up with the idea, I will tell them it all started with your sh*tty attitude.

Well, I am using new vinyl on the flat center cushions. Those I can just recover. But the stuff that's sown is a different story. Going to paint it with the same colors. So if it flakes it'll be same color underneath. Also I bought the sem shampoo and prep spray

Go for it, man. I've done my homework on the SEM paint, it's good stuff if you do it right. Plus you really don't have too much to lose.

Yea, I researched this topic and read that people do have good, lasting results with this. Prepwork seems key, so I'll definitely not skimp on that. I have all the paint already, so I might as well try it. There is no way it can look worse than it does now. IDK what happened, but the white seat backs are a hideous, non-uniform grey. It's terrible. And if they do peel, well, I guess then I'll go ahead and recover them, I'm just all out of spare cash after buying all the other stuff I needed for this boat project. Besides, I will probably need to buy more parts for the skis for the meet-up next month.

Cool, let me know how it turns out! I've had to recover my boat seats before, so I know how expensive that can be. If you can do it right with the SEM, you'll be saving a huge amount of money, and it'll still look great.

HAHAHAHA wow PMS much. Don't post a painted seat and say I know I'm going to get flamed and then not expect it. You have me mixed up there bud, I made you no offer. I only stated my opinion that you ruined a good hump seat with a rattle can. I said its yours to do what you wish, only stated my opinion. You asked everyone's opinion on the seat and everyone told you what they thought. This is the route you chose?? I also tried to explain to you why we feel the way we do about oem parts like this, apparently you do not share our passion.

Good luck with your wonderful business venture into the rattle can seat market. I wish you luck

I don't have you mixed up at all. I know you didn't make an offer. I'm saying if the seat is THAT important to you, you should have made an offer. If not, then you can't complain about a rare hump seat being "ruined." Put your money where your mouth is instead of just talking about it.

Also, just because I don't share your views on seats doesn't mean I'm not passionate about SeaDoos. To me, I made the seat better. Just like a guy who takes a 66 vette that's in bad shape and repaints it. That, to me, is not ruining the car. However, I totally understand and respect where racerxxx is coming from and I don't mind his responses at all, as he made his opinions clear in a non-dbag ish way. You should take notes from him.

I wasn't saying you aren't passionate about Seadoo, I said "oem parts like this". It's your seat bud and yours to do anything you wish. Not trying to be an ass, it just kills me to see a decent 95 hump seat get painted. That is all. Not trying to get you all wound up.

I don't need another hump seat, I have enough. (Well I guess there is no such thing as enough)

I don't recall you offering it up forsale though?

Wish i had the gopro on that day holy shhhh!

It's all good man. Did not mean to go off on you. We are all passionate about seadoos and that's the main thing. Just didn't want people thinking I don't care about my ski or don't respect it. I put more time in working on it and riding than most.

Holy crap!

Hey guys just picked up a umi for the x4, what are your favorite bars? Already have a billet throttle, umi button holder and drop nozzle lever

I like my UMI bars, they are wide but not too wide and they don't have much backsweep so they are fairly straight across.

XP Upgrades Almost Done 005.jpg

A lot of people use Renthal and Pro Taper motocross bars, they are wider with more upsweep and would have a different feel. If you ride dirt bikes or quads they might feel more natural to you. It's going to depend on what you think feels best, combo of width, rise, backsweep and upsweep.

oooooh shiny i like :driving:

i use pro taper and UMI bars, any 7/8" bar will work, its the common and standard size.

i think one of mine has the "YZ low" pro tapers

Just ordered a single gauge good for my 96xp. Going to install the multi gauge in the hood, but would also like to keep my VTS gauge. Any suggestions on how to relocate it down to the dash area next to dess post?
