Did gas just go up $0.30 for everyone?

Went from 1.39 to 1.69 today...

We might need to change this thread to "Fuel Costs Nationwide" rather than something about someone winning something on some post or something...

This thread is about nothing at all...just what's on your mind at the time, and the last poster wins....Yes gas jumped here too up from $1.53 to $ 1.79 a gallon. :ack:

It is still sunny and warm too...in the high 70'sf :)

Well, I guess someone missed me 'cause I got an email saying uh... we miss you!

I just had to come back after such a nice invitation:
"Hello, sandshark!
We've noticed that you've not been active on Seadoo Forums for quite some time now, and we miss you!

Could we not tempt you back? There have been multiple upgrades in the last few weeks and our servers are now faster then ever."

Up here in USF Land we also hit $1.79 for petrol and $2.40 for diesel... I just hope that soon diesel will be cheaper than gas for the first time in like 4 years...

Cerberus did or do you attend USF? Your profile doesn't list your age, that's where I went... Go Bulls!

No, I did not attend. I worked downtown on Ashley and at another company on Spruce and Dale Mabry for well over 10 years... We would go to Mr. T's every once in a while for lunch and our Corporate Christmas (Holiday?) party was a Mise En Place so I know the area Very Well.

But yes, Go Bulls! (BTW, 35, I guess I could fix that.)

Ahhhh, for 35 again?........

Oh, I wish I could be there again. But hell, I don't know what good it'd do me. I don't remember my 20's and 30's anyway!......

I was fascinated with your avatar and had my wife take a look. She's a literary scholar and loves anything that's in a book. Me, I prefer mags like Popular Mechanic and Popular Science. No, I don't read the other mags but have been known to take a peak now and then.

Anyway, for anyone who has found Cerb's avatar fascinating, here is a definition of his username:

Cerberus (Greek: Κέρβερος, Kérberos) is the name given to the entity which, in Greek and Roman mythology, is a multi-headed dog which guards the gates of Hades, to prevent those who have crossed the river Styx from ever escaping. Cerberus featured in many prominent works of ancient Greek and Roman literature and in works of both ancient and modern art and architecture. As with most creatures from classical mythology, the depiction and background surrounding Cerberus often differed across various works by different authors of the era, the most notable difference being his number of heads; while most sources describe or depict three heads, others show him with two, a lesser number show a variable amount, sometimes as high as 50.

Thank you for the nice 'write-up'. Yes, that is me, or more specifically my avatar. That handle has been 'mine' since as early as 1993 (I think I changed it while on a Delphi shell account)

Cerberus is the offspring of Typhon and Echidna. Echidna is the "Mother of All Monsters".

Only a few ever managed to sneak past Cerberus, among which is Orpheus, who lulled me to sleep by playing his lyre, and Heracles, who brought me to the land of the living for a while (being the last of his Twelve Labors).

In Roman mythology, the Trojan prince Aeneas and Psyche were each able to pacify me with honey cake.

Did someone earlier mention cake?

Ra.....

Nah, after just reading about the greek sun god Ra, I think Typon's birth, which was narrated by Hesoid could be given some recognition. The quote from Hesoid gave on the birth of Typhoon.

But when Zeus had driven the Titans from Olympus,
mother Earth bare her youngest child Typhoeus of the love of
Tartarus, by the aid of golden Aphrodite. —Hesiod

This stuff is awesome. Follow some of the links that Cerb has put in. This thread is in the "off topic" section so, I might have to get into some Greek Mythology. Since my wife reminds me of Medussa.

Uh....my watering hole is de-iced...I'm going boating tomorrow...again.:)

:agree:Meet ya halfway. I am headed out also... Launching from Sunset Beach, Tarpon Springs, Fl. Think I will head south into Hurricane Pass/Caladesi island. Been waiting for an excuse to burn a few gallons and as this could be the the last warm day for a few, I think this qualifies.

Sorry sporsterjoel. but maybe you can be comforted in knowing that this will be the last time I go for at least 1 week. :ack:

Thursday!....

Yeah, this past Thrusday was my last day out for a few. It's turned off cold over here already, so you Florida guys get ready. I think we dipped into the low 60's or upper 50's over here in Alabama!........

Now you're starting to sound like Karl...........:boxing_smiley:

We just finally got above freezing. It has started off as a brutal winter up here in Cowtown. We normally get one or two days of cold followed by a chinook that brings temperatures in the double digits above freezing. So far it has stayed below -20 and snowed just about every day which is really odd for us.

I think we may have a hard water problem for a long time this year.:ack:
