PWC Lift for Dock

I am looking for the best, cost effective lift for my new 300 for the dock. It will just be used to keep the ski out of the water for the weekends as I will be trailing it home when I am not there. The only lift I do not want is the side mount lift that you hand crank to lift it up. Has anyone used the Hydroport 2 XL ? My only concern is scratching the bottom of the ski ( I am picky like that ). However I found a used one for $700 vs the new extreme version for about 2k. Other Suggestions?

Used is the way to go if you can. I have 2 Shoreports. Those have rollers up the center only. The Hydroports have individual wheels that can be individually adjusted. Some guys have them very loose, meaning a roll off is very easy. I have mine set such that I have to pull it back aggressively before I get on the ski, to make sure it won't roll off by accident. You will need to adjust those to your ski and your liking.

To get off the port, I get on the ski and start it (nothing worse than being on the water, have a no-start and not be able to get back up on the port). I hold in the reverse lever, grab the handle bars, throw your weight back a few times and it immediately rolls off. Use reverse as necessary for your situation, tap the throttle to kick in into forward (gate up) and go.

Scratches: No scratches. Mine has some marring that buffs out, Hydroports, adjusted right, have the wheels in contact with the hull at all times.

at $700 id jump at it before its gone . I bought a pait of ez port 3's for more then that esy to get on and ff and in tidal water work great as opposed to lift that sit on the bottom . you didn't say if your on a lake or salt water

We are on a mud/sand bottom lake. How well do those stay on top or do the legs sink in soft lake bottoms. All freshwater lakes here so no corrosion or tides to worry about. .

what's wrong with a motorized side mount?

The waves get kinda crazy and i cant imagine trying to keep it steady without bumping the side of the ski against the side of the lift.

in the past when I lived on a lake I kept my pwcs on a lift like this with the handwheel crank. it didn't sink in the bottom

My lake is the exact same never had an issue, also have my 22 foot boat on a lift like that. They have big plate feet on the bottom and dont move at all

Who makes that lift? I assume 2 guys can pick it up and move it without much trouble if lake levels go down?

I mounted trailer guides to mine. Piece of cake.

How'r you gonna pull into any lift...not counting a floater....w/o getting off the ski and have it move outa position while you crank the lift?

I pull into mine.....kill the motor...swing the off leg over and sit crossways with my feat to the lift. Hit the button and raise the ski while keeping the ski centered on the bunks. Stop the lift when my ski is above the deck. Jump off then since the ski is above the deck I can turn the ski to put the cover on it. Once that's done...I swing the ski back over the water then lower the ski a bit.

Yup same as me, the waves on my lake can get 5 feet when the wind is ripping. I pull right into my lift I have never touched the sides and just crank it up. To answer the other questions i move the lift alone really easy. Here is a link to the site of mine
