If you guys want Jan then I would say Okeechobee or something else that south. If we can sneak in an early November ride we can push it north a little.

I like Chattanooga also. Nice central location with a lot of water on hand.

Heck no an X4 is not required. It's a great way to go though.

West point lake is very nice and should be relatively warm in early November, not sure about Tennessee.
If the time and place works out i may be able to make it with my boats, i mean GTX's.

I've been looking at images of the other lakes and they don't look any better to me. There does not seem to be some "crystal clear, must see" lake or river.

Krispy sent me two locations where they have Marinas. There seems to be enough to explore to keep us busy for a weekend.

Still keeping it open for other suggestions but it seems like our first front runner at the moment.

OK, so MB texted me earlier. I'll be watching this thread as it goes along.

Here's the skinny on my sit-che-ation:

Had a job for 20 years, TONS of flexability. Basically, I could do as I pleased as long as I made money for the company (look at all my resto threads at post days and times, LOL). Don't get me wrong, I worked hard when I had too and it was easy work for me, I knew my machinery like the back of my hand. The industry got sloooow and a lot of our customers either closed their doors or moved to the mid west to "centralize their businesses" and I had to find a job. Enter new my job. I'm working for a guy who used to work for me, roll change! It's cool though, I've know this cat for 20 years and am friends with him outside work. Place is way busy and way awesome, I'm busier than a one armed paper hanger. If the stars align I will do what I can to get there but it's not looking promising right now. I've only been there 4 weeks now and it is a major adjustment to my "lifestyle", no more flip flops and shorts for work attire, LOL.

I say the beginning of next season. As soon as area is warm enough to ride. ( See national weather service historical data.) Somewhat central for most of us, Kentucky or Tennessee. Big lake , River system with plenty of Motel / Hotels around within 20 miles. My Wife does not do camping or couch surfing. She has to have her shower, cable TV, WiFi and warm bed. ( She's getting Old and set in her ways! ) Ability to launch / recover Ski's and take with us for the nights, I would think is a must. The wonders of smart phones, we can find places to eat and drink.

Coastiejoe and I tried this in Ohio last summer. I started it. We ended up with Him, his Wife and my Family. Four Ski's and 8 people. We got some cool Sea Doo Forum T-shirts out of it.

These "meet up n ride" events should be happening more often. I'm interested in joining up with you guys next season but see no reason why we can't do both. I'd love a big "must do" ride that we can all support however I think there is enough interest to get something done in November also.

I've sold thousands and thousands(and thousands) of two stroke performance parts this year. Many of these guys I've never met. I would like to ride but also be available for questions, diagnostics, carb tuning, GPS and rpm readings, whatever. I do see a lot of #'s come through my phone but rarely know who is who and would like to get that straight.

I've been looking at VRBO and airbnb and it looks good. I'm not sure how those places would feel about half a dozen guys or more each with a truck and trailer though. I don't mind renting a central location that I could share with others. If we had a big ride we were bringing wives to it would require more of a hotel setting but if it's just based more in this hard core X4 crew this time I think we could rough it a little more.

At this point it feels like we should get a ride going at West Point Lake in early November for those of us with the time and enthusiasm for that. Then we can all be working toward a larger two-stroke Seadoo ride next summer. Having Krispy there knowing the area is priceless. If anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions you can call or text me anytime at (850)259-1581

I'll be out of town this weekend on a ride but still watching out to see where you guys are at with things.

I would also be in for this year or next. As long as I can get the time off of work I'm always down for a trip with the ski.

Matt has it right on... This meet up was really based off a small group of x4 guys, I was thinking 10 15 guys, no wife no kids. I do however think one on a larger scale has legs too.

One thing about a huge meet up is the liability factor. I think there used to be a big event on Cumberland and someone got hurt. I have contacts to insurance if someone wants to work on a big event.

I'm a firm believer that everyone should have a liability policy on a watercraft. it is so easy to get hurt and get sued these days. Im a state farm agent, I wish I could write business all over the nation because I would make sure everyone here was at least covered. Liability on a ski is only like 5-7 bucks a month from most companies.

Fawk it....party at Braley's new place!!! :thumbsup::cheers:

I'm in!! Seriously though that can happen in the future. I'm on the Northeastern side of the bay where a poor boy can still find water access so we would be better doing Destin so people could see some pretty blue water. Several of you members have threatened to come check my place(and skis) out but not a lot of traffic yet, lol. Anyway, you guys are welcome to hit me up when in the area.

Matt,

Let's do West Point lake, we should pick a weekend, the earlier (Warmer) the better. All those who can make it to ride, awesome. Those that can't can meet is for a ride at the beginning of next season, perhaps further north weather permitting.

There are tons of Bass fishing tournaments here so we have plenty of hotels with trailer available parking. I even know of a good local place for a brew and a burger. The lake is just a lake, it has some nice off shoots to explore, and some larger areas to play around and goof of in, the real goal should be to check out everyone's ski and put a face with a username and have a good time.

What do y'all think?

Yes I'm in. Like you said we can start planning next one anytime but lets get this one going. Now it's just a matter of the date and specific location. I'd like to hear from interested members about what's good and bad for you. I can be available anytime.

Minne- if your gonna make that drive I say you pick the time.

Dagre- I will help you with those skis, you will be ready if your getting home a couple/few weeks before the gathering.

MC- you do have a X4. Get the title and enjoy that 95XP out there.

So I'll obviously miss this one, but every year Jetski Junkies go to Lake Jocassee. Pretty sweet lake in the Mtns of SC. Has a bunch of waterfalls, and is pretty dang clear. That'd be pretty BA for a next year trip. With it being in the mtns the water is going to be balls cold. So you'll want to do it as late in summer as possible. It's fairly central for the FL, GA, NC, and SC peeps. I see them post pics every year on FB and I'm always jealous.

2nd weekend of November would be ideal for me if January is too cold. 18hr drive each way for me.

This is the predicted weather for the weekends in November based on historical averages here.

Highs in the 60's, lows in the upper 30's.

Yes it's better than the great white north, but it is no Florida.

Got an extra wet suit to fit a 5-11" man 175 lbs of not muscle? :)

Nick That's a haul and a half! I love your willingness to do it and the second week in November is fine with me. Let me know however I can help.

Suke you can't make it? That SC lake sounds really cool for a future location. Why are you out?

How bout the rest of you guys?

I'm 99% sure I can make it. It's only like a 2 hour drive iirc
