Yea, if you can handle 3 hours on an x4 in the open ocean, your next problem is fuel. I believe my x4 has like a 30 mi range. Maybe! The biggest tank you can put in there is 12 gal which is a mere 25% improvement. Then there is the issue of reliability. In my experience, 2 strokes quit without warning, so personally, I wouldn't even attempt the journey on anything but a 4 stroke. But it is on the bucket list. Some day there will be a thread here just like this to go to Bimini :)

We tested the 30 mile range and had no issue for me and Mpower. :) We still had quite a bit of fuel left after that too. Still open ocean on an X4 is nuts for that period of time.

I'm definitely in! I'd vote for NC (Lake Norman or NC coast?). Norman is a nice lake and has a ton of massive boats so its great for jumping. There are also some nice spots on the NC coast where guys do free rides, Freeman park comes to mind but i'm sure theres a few more. The GA lakes are nice too and might be a bit warmer depending on the time of year.

Doesn't look like Norman has any hotels ON the lake. From my google searching anywho. I'll bow out since we're trying to get in this season and don't think we could pull this together in the next 2 weeks. I like it warm. 75* is about the limit for me on an X4.

82 or so for me to stay comfortable. Being wet at 50mph gets cold

Not too sure but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't. Camping would be fun this time of year on the coast

my ski isn't going anywhere near salt. I grew up down there....my yammi spent it's life in the salt and even very well cleaned/taken care of from day1 every bolt I ever try and take off breaks. UGH!

Ya, I had an 04 gtx that spent it's life on the Gulf. 10mm bolts would just pop off when you tried to work on it

Same here, my babies ain't touching salt water.

Idk, Mine do occasionally, but I always rinse then off well. It's really not a big deal long as you do that. I haven't seen any adverse effects from it. The amount of fun you can have on the ocean outweighs the negatives imo. They just don't make 5' tall waves on the lakes lol

What is all this pu$$y talk about weather?? LOL We ride Lake superior the end of October! None of you own wetsuits?

If its in the 50s-60s and sunny that would be pretty awesome. Ill let you guys hash out the when and where. If we gotta go all the way to Florida then lets do it. TN would be awesome, so would Lake of the Ozarks....but I assume then we would have to do it "in season". Early November?

Come to Chattanooga, TN. Two rivers, two lakes and two more lakes within an hour. Can ride the river then lock through the dam and catch some big twin screw cruisers for wake jumping. The TN River cruise is over 80miles round trip. Dock up downtown walk to just about any kind of restaurant you want, or hotel. :)

Nick, have you been to Lake of the Ozarks before? That place is absolutely awesome. Im ski-less right now, but if you guys get something together I might just have to grab one real fast and join you! Ozarks is a 90 mile lake and would be great for a summer ride, idk about the off season though. There are tons and tons of on water resorts and bars. Bars. Bars. Do I need to repeat. Bars. Lol

I'd be in but trying to get a large group together with the warm weather winding down might be a challenge. Weekends are tight for me for the until mid-Oct. Maybe shoot for spring to allow more time to coordinate a larger gathering. Any how I'll be following to see if I can make.

Not this is about me at all, but I cannot take a week off between the end of may and September, Then I go to WF the 2nd weekend of October.

Never been to LotO...bucket list.

I'm down with early November. I can do any where from FL, GA, NC, TN etc

96 XP800!
Keep the 2 strokes alive!

OK I got it, Lake of the Ozarks. Never been there and it sounds really cool. Warm enough?

Minne's making the right kind of noise.

Where is RacerXXX in all this. He's a must have. I'd like to meet Jetskigoodies as well and so on.....

Hopefully someone from that area can chime in I have no clue. I would assume we would be out of season in November and could score a sick rental house or two next to each other quite cheap
