Of the group going, is there anyone who knows the waterway particularly well and the overall plan for the day? I am hoping to make it for a day ride on Saturday.

I don't think so. We will have to come up with a starting time and place.

Ank I do have buoys if somebody wants to set them up. I'm not feeling that ambitious I'm more into cruising around and exploring. Sorry to be a wuss but I see it as staying dry and wearing sleeves weather.

Whats we need is BS excuses that we haven't used before to go ride, or one that doesn't expire:

I'm 52 and my wife is 37. I don't use OR need excuses. She lets me do anything I want. LOL. She pretty much does anything with me. She even got scuba certified so we can do more together.

Life is easy....

It would be cool to have the option for buoys.

I can't imagine it getting too cold down there in the next 3 weeks. I've still been riding every weekend here in ohio. Water is down to about 64 but it's not bad if the air temp is in the mid 70s. Last weekend was a bit cooler in the 60s but I was fine with a wetsuit upper. Back to 70s this weekend.

No it's alright I will bring them. It is fun and good exercise. I just had a long day and am feeling lazy.

Bouy's please bring them, I don't think my TX can handle a tight course, but I like watching you guys rip around them, and its a good time filler that saves fuel and gives me an excuse to drink a beer :)

RE: the ride area, I did some poking around on Google earth and frankly it looks self guided pretty much, long winding river and a couple of lakes and the springs look easy to find and well within range. My group's plan is to leave Thursday mid morning and get there by afternoon, we should have the opportunity to do a scout run north and south so we have a feel for it and we'll have a couple of gps units with us as well but I don't think it will be needed.

My group is slowly growing, I might have as many as 6 ski's with me if everyone comes.

still pretty warm down here in South FL <barley getting below 89 lately but 3 weeks is a long long time so i'd recommend being prepared for anything from 60's to low 90's, wind/rain are just as likely as calm/dry, so i'll be bringing all 3 of my dry tops and a couple of hat's just in case but will probably end up in a t-shirt as usual.

I've been seeing 50s in ga definitely cooling down

ya, its mid October so with some anticipation we're watching some of the fronts move down then die off before making it to the middle of the state, us southern florida folks at this point are praying for the first "snap" to work its way down here, we've have a consistently warm summer but not extreme, but we're certainly friggen ready.

We are only a few weeks out what's our head count?

Hah. Yeah just busting your chops. I explicitly remembered you saying that in the last ride get together and laughing out loud when I saw it because I am the same way. Out of the ski game anymore, still love lurking around here. I may take up a project this winter if I can find a good deal.

Bought damn time you got a ski. And don't forget to paint those damn head bolts[emoji13]

Some clarity,,
The 4th is arrival day.
The 5th is the Ride Day.
On the 6th, anything scheduled?

I'll be down there the 3rd around noonish. I think Matt Braley and Spimothy Leary will be there Thursday as well I'm leaving Sunday

I have a small mountain of stuff myself that I don't want to ship, I should make a thread as well,
You can put my name down on the waterbox. :)

i'm going to experiment with some custom waterbox painting this winter so I need to pick up a couple of those and I have a buddy that stole my last regulator that I had laying around and I always like to keep a spare. < it was a terrible trade, I changed his tires, replaced his bunks, helped him re-wire the lights and gave him a regulator in exchange for half of a six pack.

ya, i'm thinking we'll have 5-6 thursday minimum to do an afternoon scout run both north and south maybe plan a dinner/cookout/fire pit situation.

my SWFL group was thinking of hitting river ranch sunday daytime on the way home. Its kinda sorta on the way. :)

There is a open spot in the house I have rented if anyone still needs a spot. It looks like WhiskeyD isn't going to make it. There is a plenty of dock space and a ramp right beside the house.

I also just realized we get an extra hour Sunday due to daylight savings which is nice.
