so i'm gonna take my skis out tomorrow and see what kind of work they need, i wanted to bring a buddy to the meet snikwad003, or Matt Braley, is the offer for a borrower ski still available?

I'm gonna bring a ski that I know runs right and pick up another that is new to me. I may have an extra but I was also thinking of inviting my brother. I didn't want to drag him down there and him not have a ski. Let me know how the test run goes.

I am so jealous of these rides. If we ever get our lakes back I volunteer to put together a West Coat ride.

so, the water test was semi successful, the yamaha runs like a champ, only thing it needs is steering cable, the honda wouldn't rev up, and i also grounded it on sand that I didn't see how shallow it was, so I was able to idle it back to the ramp, same as getting it out, took it home, flushed it at idle, but now it won't start. there was a really loud knocking with it when i was running it, hopefully the motor is ok?

Sounds good. You might need to sell the Honda off and try again on that one.

If anyone needs a double trailer, I will be attending the event and can bring it with me,,,, Here are the details.

2010 American brand trailer. Excellent tires on galvanized rims (13 inch). It is a steel trailer but in above average condition. Hubs, bearings and axle are in perfect condition. Some surface rust. Easily brought to great condition with minimal work. Bunks and carpet are good. LED fully submersible lights. All soldered connections with heat shrink over the soldered wires.

as I mentioned before, the closest guy I know that know's honda's well is skidoc on pwctoday, he's up in tampa and more than one member over there has worked with him and been pleased. I've never needed his help, my ski ran perfect the entire time I owned it but you definitely have some concerns there.

Geez. Rub it in. Its not our fault the honda gods didnt grace our skis with reliability:willy_nilly:

lol, I was just commenting that I personally never worked with the guy, although I did speak with him over the phone about pricing when I got silly ideas in my head about pump wedges and macboost, then decided the smart thing was to leave it alone. < if it ain't broke....

There is actually a bit of a shortage of mechanic's and wrenchers that want to work on the Honda's, at least down in my area, I know 6 local mechanic's that all pretty much say "Honda? nope, don't do honda"

looks like so much fun but i just cant bring my self to do that...would have to be a 951

Amen brother. I'm gonna do a 951 swap but it's gonna be in a carbon fiber GSX that used to have a 787. I have more X4's to build but I just have too many awesome 787's to use.

The 1100 makes a lot more torque down low. Though the 951 is supposed to have more upper end. 1100s are rock solid though, not sure I would trust a high strung 951 in the long run.

hey guys, i'm thinking it's pretty unlikely I'll be able to make this trip, between then and now, I really doubt I'll have the time to get this ski ready, Spim, I did contact the skidoc regarding the honda, my plan is to get it to him in the next couple weeks as soon as I have time to replace the hubs and tires on this trailer (he's located in lakeland, so it's a bit of a trek for these sketchy tires that lose air and missing lugs and studs)

You can ride my other ski. I'll bring common 2-stroke repair stuff so no simple little breakdown screws our weekend up. If you'd like to come I really don't mind. I've got favors to you that need paying back.

It sounds like your Yami is close. You know how easy you can pick up a good little trailer. Make a hundred bucks off of it when your done with it lol.

hey matt, thanks for the offer, as usual, it's mostly a time thing, was planning on dropping my son off in gainesville and just going up for the day, but it'd be too much traveling to get myself ready for the busy work week again, if anything changes i'll def holla at you guys, but it's looking pretty unlikely
