help with 94 gts

I have a 1994 gts seadoo and have finally narrowed my problem down but have no idea where to go now. Here is what i have I tried to start machine and had no spark. I them pulled the electronics box and noticed that if I unplugged the black and red wire that is located in the box that the machine would start but if I plugged back in it would die. The wires go into the magneto and T's off in the box and one goes to the coil and one goes into the rubber covered circuit board. If anybody has any info that would greatly be appreciated thanks.

Unfortunetly, with those findings, you'll needa new mpem...not bad, considering, those are everywhere on ebay, along with new "aftermarket" ones, and prices are not bad at all, either new oem or aftermarket...

Hey thanks for the advise timmyboy i really appreciate it i just ordered one, thought that may be the problem but didn't really understand what that box really does. Guessing it is the brain of the machine? Thanks a bunch.
