thanks gonna ty that tomorrow and buy the anti-fog rings from gopro

Rain X works great, try that b 4 you by the anti fog rings, I find that it doesn't fog up for me with the RAinX on. Of course temperature, speed and humidity levels will come into play, but it will definitely improve it regardless.

ok a question for the guys not going would you rather see the view from my ski on from my helmet?

Up top that way when you look around we can check stuff out. Being fixed to the hood is cool but when you snap your neck to look back or something you almost missed. Or out the back like this dude, minus the almost butt crack shot.

I always like this VID

Yeah it's pretty trick. I wasn't necessarily saying to mount it like his but the point of view filming is cool. I just think it better to see what you see. I always love looking at pictures on my kid phones or cameras, just seeing what things look like from their perspective and what they capture. You know, like seeing what the world looks like through the eyes of a 8 and 5 year old.

Hey, however you do it I sure won't complain one bit, I'm just glad your going to film stuff and offered!

my 2c...

fixed hood video is best for a nice long river run, carving turns, lead ski, small group, more scenery than people, i have found it very difficult to get good shots of my other riders in the group with the hood mount.

helmet video or stick mount is best for lakes, group runs were we want to see more people than scenery.

I have a hood mount but I thought about stopping by sports authority to get a head mount, not sure how it works with a hat, head, vs a helmet, i know it looks bad but it does get good shots....

my plan was to stick with my hood mount and pop it off a few times here and there to get group shots of ski's passing by.

Here's a good HX helmet cam. I like how you can do the look behind so you can see the other riders too. Man, I'm counting down the days until the ride and I'm not even going and if I was i wouldn't be able to sleep. I'm pushing the HX cam, sorry Dennis.

Racer, nice helmet cam video!

The marsh ride has been one of my favorite hx videos... pov emphasises sport bike like riding style, with several years (decades) of pavement carving it added motivation to own one.

Looking forward to any vids that you guys share!
Hoping/suggesting buoy course helmet cams....

Right on Gary, but it makes me want to ask for a set up for my birthday!

Will do, thanks for the thoughts. I have those GSX trim rods cause I bought a couple cheap to get the 787's out of them. Nam bring whatever hardware you think you won't need and well trade.

cool, will do,

thanks minnetonka4me, if if matt's parts are crap, I'll def come to you :)

My parts are only crap when I assemble them in to a ski. Take no offense if I just wrench on my junk all weekend; it's how I live my life.

I ran out of daylight beaten tonight. I pushed the XP800 to shutting off for the first time. I thought I was going to have to paddle home. It restarted but The front plug looked a little lean. I unnecessarily crippled a running 96XP for it's rectifier, etc. I intend to get off work at a decent time tomorrow and report back with great news.

ok i can guarentee hx helmet cam around the buoy course and also did a little set up today with the gopro i did a small video of how i mounted it so when matt is following me around the buoy course you can see it all video comming in 10 min

so where to meet on friday morning...

Lake Roy Beach Inn
1823 Cypress Gardens Blvd.
Winter Haven, FL 33884
Ph 863.324.6320

Early Friday afternoon at least 5 of Us should be at the Inn...4 rooms that I'm aware of... I should make it there by 2pm at the latest, with plans to check in, launch, and scout out the first lake or 3.

Saturday I'd suggest a 10:30 meet up at same location, with plans to hit the water by 11, ride for 1.5 to 2 hours, return to the lake for a late lunch, snacks and fuel top off, then proceed from there as we see fit, either do the same run, set up some bouys, stay near lake roy, whatever....

Its not the preferred method, but we're kind of winging it as far as the actual ride path is concerned, bring GPS if you have one, camera's, extra gas, snacks and liquid beverages. Make sure ski is topped off, battery is charged, and hope for nice clear weather, it might be nippier than we first thought but IMO we're riding in anything except heavy lightening. If anybody has a nice map or can print one please bring it.

Is anybody else staying at the Inn ? (Spim, Matt, Dennis, Chuck & Mike) All have rooms for Friday that I know of. As of right now i have one extra bed but i've invited a couple people to join me but as of now its still available.

At water's edge I think we'll be pretty easy to spot, we'll all be near a seadoo :) so if you're there Friday and can't find anybody, head towards the "beach" and we all can make an effort to look out for guys, make introductions and have some fun, if nobody is at the beach, look for a group of troublemakers in the bar/restaurant, don't be shy. A few of you have my phone # so we can track each other down that was as well, if anybody wants my #, just shoot me a PM.

Please remember that a few of us are staying at the Inn saturday night as well so please don'e do anything to wear out our welcome early on Saturday by buzzing the beach, doing doughnuts around the no wake sign, and generally being an idiot, one goofball can ruin the fun for a bunch of us so don't be the goofball and if someone becomes one, tell him to tone it down :)

On Sunday, my group plans to head south to the Kissimmee river,

1 Locks Access Rd
Lorida, FL 33857

maybe for a noon launch and 45 miles of dodging gators during some nice twisty runs. Launch time is not set in stone there, if we're having a great time in WH we might just ride there in the morning, or we might be so hung over we just don't care.

I haven't checked but I assume water levels are good on the K, I need to look into that.

behind the 951 twin piped hx on my b-day I need to figue out how to get the water to bead off the goPro and stop it from fogging up

here is an old timers trick, and it works real good
clean the glass with vinegar, peel the center of a potato, cut it thru the peeled area, then rub the potato on the glass,
it will glaze over, after a bit,it will kinda dry, clean it off,dry newspaper works best, water will not stay on the surface after u do this
we do it on all of our glass/goggles,,works bitchen
