might be worth the drive over, but its a lot of hodge podge there. i'd probably pass unless he'll dump one (gsx) for under 200 (1/5th of 1K)

that worth driving over to look, bring battery, if it beeps twice, take it home :) if it doesn't beep, offer him some arby's dollars and a buy one get one at soup plantation, go up from there.

thats the kind of listing where I'm dialing while looking for my car keys, so I can head right over if they answer the dam phone ! ps, note: the 98 is the red/purple one.. its not pretty. and note: if you end up with cases with a hole the size of a tennis ball, then you've got core problems too :( 951's can put you in quite a pickle.

The second guy isnt responding :/.....If I am able to grab it is there any cheaper way to rebuild an engine than sending it off and dishing out $1000?? Also, where can I get a battery for those things?

advance auto parts, u can buy online and use these coupon codes

35 off orders of $85 or more via code "RAF7JA1102"

Btw hes selling the 1997.5 model aka the grey and red one....still a good deal?

i still think so, assuming worse case with a toasted engine, I consider $250 practically free for a ski and trailer

I assume you know how to do the work yourself? cause I personally would rather buy a running ski for the low $1,000ish versus rebuidling one

also 97 is 787 motor if that makes a difference

u should buy both the gsx's and rebuild them and have them on a double trailer (I have the same skis) :)

Yep, just finished up my current 96GSX as far as I'm gonna take it. My dad will be here over Thanksgiving and that will give him a "sled" to ride (Michigander). I like the fuel capacity and it's ability to handle the chop better (than X4's) in the bay. Still though I'll throw it up for sale right after the family leaves. I can only have so many "keepers".

Look at what ad mama got up today since I dumped those hulls: http://okaloosa.craigslist.org/boa/3407571731.html

Oscar- I will ship your parts out in the morning thanks.

I think im going to get the 97.5 gsx. The guy says that the crank bearing is bad and thats about all he could tell. Said it beeps twice when you put the key in. Anyone disagree on me buying and does this all sound like it needs a rebuild?

if the crank bearing is bad u will need to disassemble the whole engine depending which bearing is bad will deter main what u will need to replace

I would Google it real good before diving in. I'm no 947/951 man but I think I've read bad things about that mid year model.

Jeez! now you guys are scaring me! Yeah I think it will need a new engine, he said a little water got into the crank...
yup needs a rebuild when a seller says a little water it means a lot of water got into the engine seadoo 2 strokes are easy to rebuild look up the seadoo workshop manual here and it will walk u through the whole process step by step u will need a couple hundred dollars of tools u can either keep or on sell to recover cost thats if u dont already have the tools

Run away! This winter is just getting started and there will be good deals a plenty. Water in the engine means it may not even be able to be used for a core. Bolts will break. Ever try to drill and easy out those ss bolts? It aint no fun. Start with a better canvas to paint on (in my very humble opinion).
