I just had these two delivered for $575! One runs fine on the trailer and the other one is complete blown (so he says). I was surprised to see that the 96 SPI has the HX trim adjuster. I like the galvanized "tilt" trailer, it's not rusted up.

Really, on the trailer and delivered. Dude, that's called theft where I live. You guys are really killing me now.

that pair looks pretty decent, now that spi can be your fav ski, and we'd be twins

Honestly It's the best of the 580's. I've seen serious skis with many "mods" off these 96 SPI. The intake vents, the single gauge hood, the manual trim. I like the color scheme as well.

Last night a CL add came up with no pics reading "98 Speedster $1000" in Panama City about an hour and a half from me. I talked to the guy right before bed and realized he could even be soft on that price. He had moved down from Montgomery and never gotten it running so the trailer and boat had never seen salt. He had jumped the solenoids and found both engines to have good compression. The original seats are tore and the guy was just over it. I got up at 4:30 in the morning and drove down there and bought the boat for $660!! I was an hour and a half late to work but it was worth it.

i thought there was an icon for "this thread is worthless without pictures"

I was always confused about how to tell if an engine is seized?

so all we need to do is try to turn the flywheel by hand? do all skiis have a magneto flywheel as well? or just pto flywheel? thanks guys

I honestly wish this boat was in worse shape. I could rip the 720's out of it, sell the unwanted parts cheap and off the trailer. But with Spim knowing a good interior guy, the PO having Titles on the boat and trailer, and these things bringing $4000 in good running condition.....I can't gut it just yet.

Also, curious if any of you guys have any spare NON-DESS seadoo keys. I'm not asking for a free one, I'll pay $5 to have it shipped, i wouldn't think it would be more than 1.50 or maybe 2 for postage cause it's so light. I only have 1 for my spi, and I think the rubber or plastic around it is worn, so it only stays on with a zip tie. Just thought i'd ask in case anybody had some they didn't need and it was just junk.

i was thinking about the time prob about 15-20 years ago, when i had a seadoo jet boat that was maybe 6 inches and battery powered, so i searched on ebay

thought this was kinda cool

Is this it, ran on a AA battery? I have one the kids use and another one NOS in the pack stored away.

I also enjoy taking the Speedster in the pool! The R/C version that is, to fill in the voids.

that one is awesome, no, mine was simpler than that, it looked like that speedster that mattbraley just brought home, cept it was mostly white with a lil blue/green trim. it can't remember if it ran on 2 AA or 2AAA and it would actually shoot out little puffs out of the jet in the back
