okay so lets get this all out so u guys know what i am dealing with... three years ago bought this ski with a blown engine... all that was left good was the crank case..... the crankshaft, cylinders, head, pistons, connecting rods all replaced... also rebuilt the crabs while i was at it(im a car mechanic so it was all done right) Rode the ski for two flawless seasons(loved the ski)... towards the end of last season i beached the ski and opened the hood, the shock on the hood lost its integrity and would not hold the hood up.... so i stuck a wrench in the hindge to keep it open...(fouled a plug and replaced both....had many spares) turned around and putting my tools away and my friend decided to close the hood with the wrench still in the hindge and the entire hindge section cracked and ripped off.... i was pissed....but still went riding....just carefully not to get any water up since the hood was cracked(it was the last few nice days and the last riding day for me) this was nine months ago and let the ski sit broken over winter.... so now over the last two weekends i have replaced the whole hood and put it all back together, gauges/steering/connections....all back together.... after assembly i fired the ski up in the garage(dry, no garden hose) for about 10 seconds just to make sure it was all back in working order... the engine smoked alot but hey its a two stroke and its been sitting for 9 months... shut it down... waited thirty seconds....and fired it again dry for about another 10 seconds.... ran great.. nice and healthy.... so then i let it sit over night... and went the next morning pulled the ski outside plugged a hose up to it(intending it to run for a few mins to clear the lines of old fuel).... put the lanyard in got two beeps... and started cranking... after 10 seconds of cranking(and it not firing) i primed it twice thinking it had no fuel.... still nothing... gave it a breather and started cranking again.... nothing.... so i pulled out the plugs and they were soaked... so i figured okay... flooded... and possiblely fouled plugs to.... so i figured ok while i run to the store to get some plugs i can let the cylinders air out... got back threw the new plugs in... still nothing.... okay so heres what i have done so far to the ski as far as ignition... checked plugs(both) for spark and nothing.... pulled out the ignition/coil/started box and checked all continuity... there was some rust on three black wires that connected directly to the coil... cleaned them up and put it all back together.. checked all connections and put dielectric on on connections... still nothing... i am a car mechanic and ignitions are the lowest thing on my knowledge totam pole... i have read on the forums here about a few things i didnt think of... first being fuses(i didnt even know it had them....where they located?) second was a MPEM test... which is as follows... push start/stop 5 times...one short beep, one long...insert lanyard... start/stop.. if start fine...if not listen to beeps for code... guys sorry about the long drawn out story but i just want u guys to know the entire story and current situation so we can get the issue resolved... i will check fuses and mpem tommorow and post results... and ahead of time thanks for all your help....Dave
