well, I know things have slowed down on this build but still have some stuff to finish up. I started the ski for the 1st time yesterday. I was really happy that it fired right up with no problems. I'm going to install a GPS Speedo. It might not be the best way but o well ill see how it goes. Another thing that just happend is Mike from pwc graphics made me some nice graphics. Ill i did was send him pics of my jet ski/engine and told him i wanted to tie it all together and told him i like the 95 graphics and this is what he gave me. I will not be doing the race plate though. View attachment 34447 that is blue not purple.

I really like it

Looks awesome! You are going to be sad to have to drill holes into that brand new warning sticker!

Where are you planning on putting the GPS sensor for that gauge? It's gonna stick out on that pretty ski and a hole will have to be drilled for the wire. If you use the button you will have to drill another hole for that also.

thats a good question, i guess im going to have to look in to that when i get the sensor in my hands to see what it looks like. If it kills the whole build ill put it in my boat lol. it looked cool at the time but maybe i should of asked you 1st and went a different way lol.

I'm going to mount mine with double sided tape or velcro until I know it's gonna work. As for the button, I'm going to either mount under the seat or under the hood. Not something I need immediate access to at all times.

I'm hoping the sensor will read being mounted on the back of the ski and will run the wire out around the seat latch area so I can hide a hole if it's needed. The sensor is 100% waterproof. If all goes well I may paint the sensor to match the hull.

I'm with you though, my boats speedometer doesn't read accurately so if this doesn't work then the gauge has a good 2nd home. I've replaced the pitot, lines, gauge and it still reads like 23 MPH max.

If the guy your racing is in front of you no matter how much you look at that gauge you're not gonna go faster, and if he's behind you....looking at it ain't gonna make the gap between you grow. So, you only need a fuel gauge.

True , but let's be onest do we really need half we do to the skis...

The Candoo reads from inside the hull. I find that pretty amazing. It really does work great I've read where people get there new Yamaha's and put the Candoo in it for actual mph results. You don't have to cut any wires and it does not utilize the paddle wheel. They were not available when I built(rebuilt?) this http://www.seadooforum.com/showthread.php?60684-An-Extremely-Modified-X4&highlight= .

I took some pics of the hood on mine. Luckily I had the black stripe motif going on and it's more of an old racer than a shiny resto so a couple extra holes didn't hurt that bad.

Put a single gauge hood on it
I'm def not spending the coin it takes to get a single gauge hood just for that. Before doing that I'd epoxy the hole shut and paint it for $5. And no don't worry I would never do that.

Just get the seadoo gauge block off.

Yah I have block offs in both of my single gauge hoods. They came to me that way, so no idea of they were stock or what.
