Hey y'all, new to the forum, first post. The short of it is, I'm trying to find out what size and kind of battery I should put in a 95 GTS. I got this ski running a couple years ago and got a battery that a local ski mechanic suggested I get (from wally world), and after having some mechanical issues, it sat up for about a year and a half without being started or charged. Hopefully I've got the mechanical issues sorted but need a new battery. The battery sticker has fallen off or something and I can't find any notable numbers stamped into the battery, so I asked said back yard jet ski "master" and he said to go to wal mart and get a 16 lbs. They don't offer that size anymore and doing a search in their system doesn't go to 1995. I would prefer to stay on the cheaper side until I know know for sure the thing is gonna run correctly. I turn to the expert opinions I'm sure to find here. Thank you in advance for any wisdom y'all can bestow.

Stay away from the Walmart ones as they have been junk out of the box. I use the Napa GS 16CL-B and with a Battery Tender I get at least 4 years out of them.

That's the insight I was hoping for. I sure appreciate the help. I know everyone has their own opinion, but do you suggest popping the acid in, waiting an hour, then trickle charging over night before the first use? I've heard a lot of people get good results out of that process and seems like if you're getting 4 years out of a battery you're doing something right.
